We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. (1 John 2:3-6)

If any man will come after me,let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoeverwill lose his life for my sake shall find it.For what is man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Okay, if I walk into a department or specialty store(not a grocery store)and am not greeted within a reasonable amount of time, I turn around and walk out. Usually, the employees will be talking amongst themselves or look up at me, then look away without speaking when I feel that I should take my business elsewhere. Does anyone else feel that customer service in America should be a lot better? Do you agree with my standards?

I don't know if that'd be a good thing or not in some cases, but is there someplace where the topics are a discussion instead of just the Q&A?

The "sexual freedom" movement started in the late '60's by atheists and jews certainly resulted in a pervasive increase in promiscuity. Isn't this what led to AIDS spreading like wildfire? Obviously promiscuity doesn't cause AIDS - but it certainly spreads it. Even with gay couples,if they are free of it and momogamous, they are not at risk. In the the final analysis, isn't the spread of this apppalling epidemic and it's death toll a direct consequence of atheists and secular jews and their allegedly "progressive" ideas about what they call healthy sexuality?
If so healthy, why has it caused millions of unneccessary deaths?

The Bible states the wages of sin our death. Why would Mary need to be assumed if she was sinless? Also, two others before here were taken and did not die. If God made note of that in the Bible, why wouldn't He have made note of her assumption?

Ok, bit the bullet today & at lunch time went to a shop where I thought I'd seen someone a few weeks back that I used to go to school with (I'll call her X). Went in, asked if they had anyone called X working there, yes, so I said her surname that I remembered. They said sure but now she's married but didn't give me her new surname (which is fine). They asked if they could pass a message to her. I said no that's ok and was told she's back tomorrow if I wanted to pop back. Here's the thing, after I'd seen her few weeks ago, it brought back memories of hanging out with her & caring about her. Later on in school I'd said something horrible to her which was stupid & immature. She never spoke to me again after that. For a while now, I've wanted to be able to say sorry & tell her I never meant it. But today finding out she's married & probably happy in her life, should I bother her with something that happened years ago? She probably wouldn't speak to me anyway. Now they'll tell her some guy

...because I question the bible. How does that make me less of a christian? Just because I don't throw myself into every single belief put forth by it? I don't believe I have to go to church every Sunday. Christians are supposed to accept and forgive others. Why can't my family forgive me for not agreeing with everything they say? I am in no way trying to demean God or the bible. Like I said, I don't think you have to live everyday of your life under the rules of it. Then there's the whole creationism thing. I don't think our world just got how it is today in one "POOF". I think God created evolution. Is that so blasphomous?

Why do some Muslim women cover their eyes when in the Quran it even uses an example of eyes being veiled as a NEGATIVE thing? It just doesn't make sense to me. I can understand if back then they covered themselves up with a large piece of material and held the covering in a coy way that might cover an eye for a moment but even in the Quran it uses 'veiled eyes' as a negative. So what pushes a woman to think that covering her eyes is good? I am Muslim by the way but don't understand this.
From the Quran: Sura Baqara ...and their eyes are veiled. They have incurred severe retribution. (7)

The Western civilization was for the most part created by Christians and has a high population of Christians. Most of the worst acts of inhumanity have come from the west, eg, slavery, two world wars, the holocaust, the atomic bomb, extinction of species due to pollution and the greenhouse affect because of the technology produced by the west. So, you can say that the West, Christianity has produced most of the most evil things to affect the world, yet those in the West responsible are christians and will go to heaven. Most of the population of the world are not Christian's. There are many, many good non Christian's but they will go to hell.

You who love the LORD, hate evil! Psalm 97:10

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate. Proverbs 8:13

True Christians do not hate you but love you and would love to see you surrender your life to God. Christians have to hate the evil acts you do. This does not mean we do not care for you. We trully care for your salvation.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8

If someone claims to not love you they do not know God. For God is love.

My proof of it is my faith.I have faith that the tooth fairy exists.

To any questions? The tooth fairy works in complex ways, too complex for you to understand.

If the tooth fairy doesn't exist, how else does a dollar appear under your pillow in exchange for a tooth?

How about if a pastor used these names to describe someone who has filed bankruptcy or defaulted on credit card debt, etc... (someone who has stolen, broken one of the 10 commandments)

Would you support a pastor that used these words to describe someone who was divorced/remarried, (by fundamentalist standards, they are committing adultery)

So, would you give your support to such hate speech against the obese/gluttons, bankrupt, or divorced/remarried?

If not, why do you support churches/pastors that use these words against homosexuals.

Pat Robertson called Ellen Degeneres a degenerate...Jerry Falwell called the homosexuals the scum of the earth...and pastors on a regular basis, even on this site call gay people an abomination. I have heard many more adjectives used by pastors for homosexuals.

So, why? Why do you allow such terrible language toward homosexuals...but, would not stand for it against others?

I had no lysol, and you didn't even light a candle

More annoying is the fact that all the other stalls were full,
and one had a lady in it that was TALKING REALLY LOUD ON HER PHONE WHILE SHE WAS TAKING A DUMP
And it made me wonder . . . . .what really matters in life anyway?
Am I so important, that I must talk to you and focus on my dump simutaneously?
Does this happen in the mens room too?

I would just like to know why people want to say they follow the word of God (the Bible), but pick and choose what they want to follow and acknowledge. Everyone knows the "don't steal", don't murder", "don't covet thy neighbor's wife", however the Bible states other things that don't go with today's society, such as women will not teach and that they will do their husband's will. What about all of those? I just want to know if you take it as strictly what God says and you choose not to follow or if you think that some of the things God meant got miscontrued?

Just to elaborate, I mean: Is stealing a car worse than stealing a pack of gum? And is stealing any better than killing someone?

Please explain your answer. (In other words, you'll get a thumbs down if you just write "yes" or "no.")

Feel free to answer the question from either your personal perspective or the perspective of a religious group.
