We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. (1 John 2:3-6)

Yes. " To obey is better than sacrifice " ( 1 Samuel 15:22 ). Our response to God's Word is a pivotal issue in these last days before the Anti-christ when men will either stand unwavering in their faith of God and His Word or they will continue to find pleasure in sin and disregard God's Word. For the latter ones, God will send them strong delusion because of the consequences of their "own" sin ( 2 Thess.2:10-12 ). If men are determined to go to hell there is nothing else that the Lord can do to rescue them!

Yes, because if we love him we will obey his commands...

It also helps knock hypocrisy on the head when we obey Jesus.

Yes we do have to obey and it is not hard to do when you are born again, and have only the desires of God, and not of the world. WE cant even really hear God if we are living in sin, as it seperates us from God. One may go home and read their Bible, but the word wont come alive and speak to their heart, if they are sinning. God says blessings come from obedience, and disobedience leads to curse that simple, that didnt change at the cross. grace does not cover willfull, deliverate continued sin. The only way we are protected by God is to truly be in Jseus Christ, which means living like Him, speaking like Him, an d obeying all we know to obey and seeking to learn even more We msut hunger for truth and it will come . PPL you cant fool God, He knows the heart. IF you love Him, He says you will obey. So if you arent truly willing to obey and be glad to, then you arent really loving God, its just lipservice. God has showed me this is one of the greatest last day messages to be taught in intesnisty now, as we dont have long to speak truth. When Jesus comes, we must be fully His or we arent His at all.

Do what you will.
If your nature is carnal it will make no difference if you do a thing or just fantasize about doing that thing because both come from your carnal nature.

If your nature is spiritual it will make no difference if you do a thing or not because when you do things you'll do them for love which is to say for God. Think of a person you love then imagine for a moment hurting them in any way and you will recoil at the thought. A child of spirit loves everyone and can't prevent themselves from doing good works.

To go against your nature is to live in frustration, anger and darkness. You can't be good by willpower.

Do or do not. There is no try.

If we want to experience abundant life and freedom we do. It's not hard to obey His commands because He' s living within us. If He wasn't it'd be impossible. It's like He said, "Apart from Me you can do nothing." (JN).
