Ok, bit the bullet today & at lunch time went to a shop where I thought I'd seen someone a few weeks back that I used to go to school with (I'll call her X). Went in, asked if they had anyone called X working there, yes, so I said her surname that I remembered. They said sure but now she's married but didn't give me her new surname (which is fine). They asked if they could pass a message to her. I said no that's ok and was told she's back tomorrow if I wanted to pop back. Here's the thing, after I'd seen her few weeks ago, it brought back memories of hanging out with her & caring about her. Later on in school I'd said something horrible to her which was stupid & immature. She never spoke to me again after that. For a while now, I've wanted to be able to say sorry & tell her I never meant it. But today finding out she's married & probably happy in her life, should I bother her with something that happened years ago? She probably wouldn't speak to me anyway. Now they'll tell her some guy

came in and was asking after her. Should I leave it now or what?
I'm in no way looking for reconcilliation with this girl or forgiveness. I just want her to know that I never meant to hurt her.
Please help.

I'd have left her a note saying what you said and maybe an email address or something not really personal (not like a cell phone number-- too forward for the situation) because you don't want to be embarrassed by the ol' "Do I know you?" routine, especially if it's someone whom you may have offended in the past. If she wants to contact you then she will and if not, you have confessed your transgression and can move on with that part of your life as well

What do you want from this meeting? You are obviously feeling guilty about it and in a way, meeting her and apologising would at least rid you in part of some guilt. What might she get from it? Well, I think she probably remembers quite well what you said even if she eventually denies it. You are best to hedge your bets on this one and go and apologise. How would you feel if you didn't do it now and then find out years and years from now that your comments had actually had a detrimental affect on her life? It isn't likely but who can be 100% sure? Anyway, she might just be pleased to catch up with an old friend...good luck.

It depends if you are taking a walk down Memory Lane and want to shoot the breeze, or it sounds like the fact that you said something stupid and immature to her is weighing heavy on your conscience. There's a possibility that she may have forgotten it, but you will not know unless you ask.

I don't think you should worry about it...i'm sure she has forgotten or at least has got over whatever u said to her. If you ever happen to bump into her (accidently) then u can apologise but actually going into the shop & speaking to her after all these years about something that happened at school...seems weird.

Don't kid yourself! You may think you're fooling us but you are very transparent. All you want is to try getting in her pants! Be a man and admit it! Why so mach remorse after such a long time? Why so insistent in letting her know you 'didn't mean' what you said ages ago? Do you think she cares or even remembers. Grow up, give it up, and be on your way for she wants noting to do with you!

She may be happy now, but that doesnt mean she wont appreciate a genuine apology. go back in and tell her. If someone whod upset me apologised, i would think it nice that theyd taken time to do it.

Well, since you just want her to know that you are sorry you hurt her. I think it would be nice of you to tell her. I think that is very nice of you. I think it takes a man to do this. I applaud you.

leave a note saying what you want to say; leave it with the staff when she's not there.
leave it up to her whether or not to resume contact; you approaching her at her job could be very awkward for her.

Yeah just leave her the note and your number!
You are obviously hoping she isn't happy - maybe she is separated or even divorced - who knows?!
Or maybe you could be friends anyway?!
