How does 2 gay men getting married affect the sanctity of marriage?

Tim and I are planning a comittment ceremony in place of a wedding. Because some people don't want the us to get married, stating that our loving committed relationship will ruin the state of Marriage today.

We do the same things as married couples do. We go to work m-f we come home. Have dinner, relax for a while and then go to bed. We do our shopping on weekends for groceries. We do laundry then to. What is so wrong about that?

Please answer as honestly as you can.

As we all know, after Christ died, prophecies say that He'll resurrect after 3 days right? And we all know that a day is equal to 24 hours (so 3 days is 24 X 3 hours). Christ died on 3 P.M. on a Friday.

So, 24 hours (which is equivalent to 1 day) after that would be 3 P.M. on a Saturday.

[Keep count people, 1 day has passed and 2 more days to go until resurrection time]

Adding another 24 hours to 3 P.M. of Saturday will make it 3 P.M. on Sunday.

Jesus resurrected on I guess 4 or 5 A.M. on Sunday. Either ways, it hasn't been three days after He died. It's roughly a day and a half after He died that He resurrected.

So, what gives?? He's supposed to resurrect 3 days after He died, which would be on Monday 3 P.M. if I calculated it right.

So...is there a historical miscalculation of some sort?

I wouldn't mind if He'd resurrect ahead schedule. Frankly, I'd do the same. But I'm just talking about the numbers.

Buddhism teaches dispassion as a road to happiness. Passion is to be discouraged as it leads to false expectations and ultimately unhappiness.

I have a passion for teaching. I believe that what I do helps people and furthermore that enthusiasm is a good quality for a teacher. Buddhism also teaches that dispelling ignorance is necessary for happiness.

Is passion in this sense a good thing or a bad thing? Should this be an exception to the general rule of dispassion or am I deluding myself?

What do you think?

I would like you to post a link for a website that you think accurately reflects your faith's teachings and/or faith community. Please be specific. So for, example, if you are a Christian, please link a website for your specific denomination or actual church even. I am asking this in this spirit of mutual growth and understanding, therefore, please do not post links for propaganda sites speaking against others. This is your chance to showcase what you love, not put down what you don't. Cheaters will be reported and deleted, not to mention that you'll only be making yourself look very petty and mean-spirited. All are welcome, and I particularly encourage those of smaller faiths that many Americans no little about such as Shinto, Jain, Hopi, Bahai, etc. to participate. Also, if you would give us a little intro to the site and what we can expect to find. Lastly, if you'd like to give your own personal reasons for being a member of this faith, you are welcome, but please be succinct.

I do all the time for I find the Atheists most of the time in their view seem to be good observers of the acts, actions, and the very inconsistent understanding of what many who call themselves Christians say the Bible says. Too many time in simple and clear logical terms they do call attention to many points that most do not see or desire to overlook for the sake of their so called blind faith.

In my view they are a blessing and do aid me in the learning and correcting process that is necessary for me as I do seek to understand the constantly consistent truth.

To all Atheists: Please stay right here on Yahoo Q&A and keep up the works you are good at so I can keep thanking my God and learning. You are one of the solid affirmations to me that My God does exist and does provide for all the needs of his children.

For years and years now, I've had this thing that goes on where I think about something, such as a scene from a movie or lyrics from a song, and it comes into my mind randomly..and then the next time I turn on the TV and turn it to a channel, the same movie I was thinking about is on at the exact same scene I thought about. And on the radio, the song would be on, near those exact lyrics.

Sometimes I would even be in a class, and then the teacher says he will pick on someone to choose a number from one to one hundred. Randomly, someone in the class comes into my mind, and the teacher calls on that person. Either that or I think of a number myself from one to one hundred, as an example, I would think in my head "75." And when the student answered, he said "75."

Also, I was watching the Price is Right a while ago, and the woman on the show was asked to pick a number, I was saying out loud "47." and she said "47."
I'm not sure what this is, does anyone know what this is called?

"I am an atheist" makes people in this country cringe, they equivicate it to pedophiles and rapists.

Can the name 'atheist' be worn with pride?
