The Morrigan is a goddess of battle, strife and surprisingly fertility. She is also known as the Phantom Queen. She is part of a trio, with Badb and Nemain. She is often seen on the battlefield in the form of a crow. She is also associated with majick, not all of which is considered evil. In the King Aurthur stories the trio was Morrigan, Morrgaous, and Morrgain. All were related. Morrigan was his half-sister.

In today's world however, her role has changed. Society no longer believes in her as a battle goddess. We as a society are not usually in a life-or-death struggle on a daily basis. The Morrigan is now considered a deity of strength and Independence for those on a warriors journey.

Modern Pagans meditate on a crow's feather for strength to face the warriors journey. The meditation brings calmness and focus to the warrior.

Though some sweep by "the great queen," she has another aspect than deity of battle. The three sisters Macha, Nemhain and Morrigan are mistresses of all Magick crafts.
