At least I never seen any windows on your buildings. Why is that? I've always wanted to know.

Ofcourse we all "put foot in mouth" at times, but what about some who almost always have to give unkind comments. I am talking about those in your daily life. Do you know of any who are this way and what would you say to them to help them see they can turn a negative remark into a positive.

In like the past few months, I've been depressed & angry, but some days it's just worse, including today and yesterday.
And I've stopped praying to the ceiling/god, because asking the ceiling/god for help does nothing at all. I stopped believing in god like last month, it wasn't doing me any good.
So any religious people that know more than I do, what do I have to do to get god to answer any prays?
and if there is no freakin god, then anti-depressants don't entirely work cause it doesn't change the situation because the ceiling/god is too lazy to help me. So how do I commit suicide quickly and painlessly? I'm hoping I won't have to do that, unless I have to.
No one comment on that last part.

I believed because I was baptized when I was five years old and I was required to go to Church and bible study twice a week for eleven years until I was sixteen. I was very much indoctrinated into religion. I was fortunate I met some Atheists friends and when I saw how kind and honest they were I became Atheist myself and never attended Church again. It is a complete new world for me. Freedom from fantasy land. I look back and can't bealive I actually subjected myself to such a strong belief with no basis except faith. Why didnt I even question? I still wonder why I was so caught up in it without questioning my faith? Can you explain why it is for you?

Just say what you think. Which religion makes the least sense to you, and why. Everyone has their own opinion, so voice it, and speak! (so to say, i mean your actually typing, but oh well, lol)

What does everyone think about shunning or ex-communication in general? I know the JW's shunn former members and there are plenty of other religions that do too. Is the practice out of line with our modern world! Is it going too far to never talk to a family member or friends again because of an apparent sin or difference in beliefs?

My father is very religious and I live in a Greek Catholic (same as Roman except priests can marry) family. We came to the United States from Ukraine. My father found this Ukrainian church in manhattan and he wants me to go with him every sunday. He dresses very formal the way he did back in Ukraine. He wants me to dress formal too, but it's just not me. I just end up looking like a big dork and he ends up going to church by himself with a heavy heart. The thing is, I've lost all my faith for God. I don't want to go to church but then again I don't want to break my father's heart every sunday. I'm afraid if I tell him the truth, he will not accept me as a son. What should I do?
Also, one day I expect to have a family of my own, will it affect my children in any way if I raise them without religion ?
Thank You to all who will answer this =/

Didn't Jesus say, take no thought for tomorrow, what ye shall eat and what ye shall wear; consider the birdies who neither toil nor fret -- are they not more gorgeous than that pervert King Solomon who was arrayed in all his gossamer stuff? (?) or words to that effect.

Let us consider the words of that holy Jesus on this Sunday morning, and sun is shining...

Hold on, let me get my wife's Bible out and see some of these sacred quotes. . .

And suffice it to say, the world is rather different from what I expected; and I HAD MADE NO PLANS for having to work for a living, and now this horrible thing is thrusted upon me; I am truly dismayed and perplexed.

Replies from Bible scholars and others appreciated as soon as possible, I need answers now.

I imagine that such a prominent Spiritual Leader would've had to display Courage and Strength at even such a young age, or at least have been able to stand up for what he thought was right.

As for those who will ask me if I would've defied the Nazi regime; To that I say I'm not running for Pope.

I have felt a void between myself and God for months now. I still believe, I still pray, I still love Him, but I don't feel like singing praise songs anymore, I don't want to read the bible, I feel sadness when I try to tap into my spiritual life. I feel like He is rejecting me at every turn.

why do catholics try to pretend their pope is not a nazi? he was a member of the nazi party in his youth. he talks about "purifying" non-catholics, like the nazis talked about purifying germany. he is ordering an anti-jewish mass to be said in his churches. will they wait until he starts putting swastikas on steeples before they admit ratzi is a nazi?

Shouldn't the tabernacle be given a place of prime importance in the church, since it holds the body of Christ, rather than being relegated to the blessed sacrament room most of the time? You would think this item would be mounted front and center, replacing the crucifix and the statues of Mary and Joseph, perhaps even part of the altar. If this is truly Jesus, why is it not given the utmost importance when you walk into the church?
