Jesus had no idea of the challenges that people would face thousands of years later. Did Jesus ever have a job that paid a salary? I don't think so. He lived in another World.

The Bible also says that a man who doesn't take care of his family is worse than an infidel and an infidel will never pass through the gates of Heaven. Before Jesus started teaching, He was a carpenter, remember? That's pretty hard work. I know, I've done it. So why would He tell us that we don't have to work? He says not to worry in the passage that you're talking about. He doesn't say not to work. There's a difference.

Step 1: Read the whole Bible and not just slices of it. If you read the WHOLE thing, those verses will make more sense.
Step 2: The Bible is God's love letter to those who have a relationship with Him. If you have no personal relationship with God, the author of the Bible, then you have no business reading, much less trying to apply, someone else's "mail."
Step 3: Get your priorities straight. If you want to understand the Bible, ask God to help you understand it.
Step 4: Here are a couple of other "slices" you will run into, if you read the WHOLE Bible:
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
----- Matt. 6:33, 34
Have you sought God and His kingdom first?
" 'No eye has seen, nor ear has heard,
no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love HIm' but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may UNDERSTAND what God has freely given us."
----- 1Corinthians 1:9,10,11,12
"When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." ---- James 4:3
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." ---- James 1:5,6

Don't let what the next day will bring for it has it's own worry's but the scripture holds for you to have faith that he will give it to you. Jesus never owned anything or had any money but his father took care of him. Jesus worked as a carpenter with his step father, the scripture says that if a person is lazy let him also not eat!

Don't take the bible so literally. Otherwise you might find yourself believing something that an 800 year old man said he heard from a burning bush.

1Tim 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. -2 Thessalonians 3:10.
Paul is very clear on this issue. You will also find that you do not work, you will find yourself in a place you do not want to be, here on earth.

Funny how that is. I didn't plan on having to work either. But the money changers say I must.

God helps them who help themselves. We all have to work for a living in one respect or the other. Don't feel so alone.
