Anyone the King is married to is the Queen. Although the Queens husband is only the Prince if it is the Queen who is the reigning monarch and not her husband.

If William were King, his wife would automatically became Queen Consort, wife of the reigning king.If William were to marry while still a prince, his wife would become a princess; a commoner wife assumes the husband's titles unless the marriage is morganatic(which won't happen in this case).
And to clear up an assumption: Prince Philip is a spouse of a reigning queen;no one can bear a title higher than the reigning queen,so king, which is considered a higher title, always implying a monarch, can not be used. And as another poster stated,Prince Philip, although of royal birth himself(Danish-Greek),was not heir to George VI;Elizabeth was her father's heir.

Queen. The King's wife automatically becomes Queen. (It's prince Phillip because HE is not the descendant of royalty. The Queen was a daughter of a king--she didn't marry into it)

If he becomes king, then she'll be queen. Of course Elizabeth would have to die, and Prince Charles as well. Charlie might well drop soon, but the Queen is planning on living forever and I think she just might pull it off.

It all depends. See, Prince Charles is in line to the throne so when Queen Elizabeth dies he is in line. But the people may decide Prince Charles is to old, and then the next in line is Prince William. So if Prince Charles becomes king she will be a Princess, but if Prince William becomes King, then she will become Queen!

Get it?

Queen Elizabeth's husband is PRINCE Philip, because he is not born to the throne. If Prince Will marries, his wife will be "Princess" even if/when he becomes king.

Hopefully by the time that question needs to be answered, the whole monarchy will have been done away with, like the irrelevant anachronism that it already is.
