NASA seems to have a big interest in acquiring top notch space travel equipment by the year 2012. They are offering hundreds of millions of dollars to companies who can design and build high tech space travel vehicles. Why is the year 2012 so important to NASA and the Government?

NASA website clearly says "no later than 2012", so this is a deadline. According to President Bush's earlier speeches, he plans to put men on the moon again by 2012. He speaks about moon bases, manned Mars missions, and the likes. Why this big space pushes by 2012?

The Orbital Space Plane program will provide the capability for crew rescue by 2010 and the capability for crews to transfer to and from the International Space Station by 2012.

A menorah is not offensive to me, I think they are rather cool looking, and the little candles they make for them are artful.

By the way, if you are Jewish, would you be offended if a close Christian aquaintence/client gave you a menorah as a gift? Would you think they were over stepping their boundaries?
What would you think if they had a menorah in their house? (Of course they know what it stands for and what it means)

Hey guys, i am turning 14, and i have a pool and a very large backyard. I have about 10 wiffle bats (for a wiffle sword war, very fun). I got a foosball table in my basement, and wrestling will be on TV the night of my party. its an all guys party, so we can just chill out with nobody to impress. any other fun suggestions, because it might be thundering, and then the pool will be useless. please, i want this to be a great party! \

Sorry if anyone is offended. I am genuinely curious if nuns feel the same longing many women have to have babies or nurture children. By the way, I know not all women have these feelings so I'm not trying to be sexist.

The standard treatment for a baby born with ambiguous genitalia was to immediately perform surgery to alter the appearance of their sexual organs to make them female, since a small penis is inherently undesirable for most men (including the doctors making the decision about which gender the baby should be)
Many of these kids who were studied over the long term, return to their chromosomal genders, regardless of the appearance of their genitalia.

Only in recent years have parents demanded genetic testing to determine gender on a chromosomal level before making a choice about surgery.

Some parents put off making these decisions about their children until they are old enough to understand the situation themselves.... but that is a difficult road to sow, as very few people understand or even accept the possibility of gender outside the 2 norms we are familiar with.

If you have had a child with ambiguous gender issues, I would really like to hear about your experience.
