I wouldn't have them arrested, because I could get in trouble too, just for having them in my house. I would, however, tell them to leave and NEVER come back. I would stop all contact with them, because anyone who knows me knows that I refuse to associate with anyone who does drugs, even family. They would have to find a way to prove to me that they have gotten clean before I would even consider allowing them back into my life. That actually happened with my own father and my stance on that issue is the main reason that he got his life back together.

I once was married to someone that disrespected my family so much that he would bring drugs into the house. He eventually spend 3 years in jail because of his own stupidity. I now have the wisdom to say, this, If you own your home and you call the police to get rid of this person, the police might seize your home and sell it at auction. Sound extreme, But I grew up in Miami in the 80's where this happened often. I would throw the bastard out of the house and then call the police. If it is my child who is under age, I would flush the drugs and punish them appropriately. If it is a first time offense I might choose a lighter punishment that if it has hap pend repeatedly. I would choose doctors and hospitals over police in most cases. Only because I don't want to ruin my child's life. The Police are there if you need them, but if a family can fix their problems without the help of the police I would try that first. Every situation is different. Regardless of the situation, I have no tolerance to drugs brought in my home. I would have some kind of solution.

It depends on the drug and the situation. Not all drugs would cause the cops to take your kids and all that. As a matter of fact there is one drug where less than an ounce is considered a misdemeanor and they won't do more than write a ticket.
So, my answer is Misdemeanor NO, felony YES.
Of course that's just me, your opinion may be different and you're entitled to it. Just understand that not every drug and situation puts you at the risk as some were describing.

You don't distinguish between different kinds of drugs. I assume you mean the illegal ones, not prescribed drugs, which can actually be more harmful physiologically, deending on how good your doctor is.
Illegal drugs - yeah you can get arrested, but what are the chances of that happening? Drugs that are illegal are illegal because they are just too damn good, or someone had a vendetta against the people that used them and they were banned, and branded not just illegal, but immoral, on purely subjective grounds. Alcohol and tobacco are till allowed for example, while cannabis is not. You have been brainwashed by your government, press, churches and yourselves. Someone wants to bring a big bag of weed or coke into my house? Yes please, but leave your filthy booze at the door.

Yes, I would not lose my children, home or freedom for anyone! YES! Anyone who comes to my house should respect my rules, my family and my lifestyle. Only a loser would put a family/ individual at risk without regard for their well being, or best interest! My family members are not involved in drugs, but any extended family would be arrested.

I would throw them out of my house. I have done that before and I would do it again. I would only have them arrested if they hurt someone, but just for bringing the drugs in, I would just kick them out.

Such hysteria over pot....I am sure your sister can't wait to come over. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Your issues with your sister might just take care of themselves. Once she realizes that no matter what she does, the judging will never, never stop, she may not want to be around you or your family. I know I wouldn't. Just because you have children ( i have two as well) doesn't make your the final word of whats wrong and right.

I might give them a single warning, but yes they need to spend some time behind bars if they bring drugs into my house.

Maybe if I asked them to get rid of them and they continued. You could be arrested for having the drugs in your house even if they aren't exactly yours.
