It's all part of being a Troll - people give hateful answers (and ask equally hate-filled questions) just because they CAN.
Usually, they are only pathetic little 15 year-olds who think they are being the FUNNIEST thing in the entire world. Odds are that they are drunk (after swiping a beer from their daddies stash) or stoned - with nothing better to do.
In the real world - these are the kids who would get their asses beaten down on a daily basis if they ever so much as said 1% of what they say online. They KNOW that they can get away with it - and this is what drives them...
It's quite sad really - but the worst thing you can do is to actually pay attention to what they're doing. If you ignore them, then (eventually) they will go away ;););)

It makes them feel good about themselves and makes them feel superior to the other person for a little bit. The people that find this fun have serious mental and emotional problems and have seriously low self-esteem.

They're small petty people who can only feel good about themselves when they are being that way. They also may have some anger issues.
