Religious writings are completely open to interpretation! Look at all the different religions that read the Bible differently. It's all your perspective that you have going into reading it. I think the bigger question is, is religion open to having religious writings being open to interpretation? In my experience, I would have to sadly say know. Religion generally tries to claim that their interpretation of religious passage is the one "correct" way to interpret religious writings. Isn't that a sad, closed-minded way to live? My way or the high way... :(

You should read Saint Thomas Aquanis who wrote his Summa Theologica as a dialogue of debate. Where there is infallibility, as in Sacred Scripture, or in Sacred Tradition, we don't dispute it. We just believe infallible teachings, because we believe GOD wrote them. And we should examine all these things and discern the TRUTH which is JESUS CHRIST. There is a right, there is a TRUTH . .. a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

The problem with the words in the bible, they were written by men, not by god. Until everyone knows this we will never really be able to understand each other. People also have personal choices, God don't force anyone to follow him. I choose to.

Yes they're open to interpretation...it's not like they're factual. Take it as YOU see it.
Aw, religious people offended that I said the Bible is fiction? So sad. =(
