Of course, the obvious answer would be to suggest that they are vestigial structures more useful to heribore ancestors with larger jaws... But, assuming creationism, is why would this be done?... Is God just a sadistic bastard who wants to see all humans suffer?...

I was reading through some answers to a recent question on Christians, sin, and non- Christians feelings about it - when I read this. (see below)
I am stunned and so deeply saddened that anyone would endure a lifetime of believing this to be the truth of all that they are.
Why oh why, would anyone accept this as "truth" from any God?
I never in my life have heard anyone speak about themselves this way - is this common?
My heart is breaking..............

quote; " I'm saying that I am weak, sinful, and need help to survive. As a Christian, I'm saying that there is nothing I can do outside of Christ to save myself. I'm saying that I'm filthy with sin and that the only way I can be clean is by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Peace."

Everyday there's these kids that come on here after years of the brainwas........going to church, and are just falling apart saying how they are losing touch with God and all the other stuff that makes me throw up a little when I read it.

But in 6 months here, I have never seen an atheist be unsure, and start to think "Hey, maybe the Christians were right."

I have heard the micro chip could be implemented by May of 2008, do you think that has anything to do with the prophesy in Revelations? What say you, Christians?

Why is the story that a woman came from a guy's rib,was convinced by a talking snake to eat a fruit forbidden by Yahweh any more believable (or less nuts) than Zeus having to make his father throw up his brothers and sisters?
Seriously......

Why is it that people don't curse Hare Krishna, or Allah or Buddha or even Tupac for that matter? I was thinking about it the other day because I have this co-worker who curses Jesus and I know he loves Tupac and so I took Tupac's name in vain in front of him and he wasn't even perturbed at all. Why is it that only God and Jesus are worthy to be cursed by the general population and all of these other religious icons - it's almost laughable to curse them? I mean Pope dammit, or Hare fing Krishna??? When I try it to see what people do or think - who believe in these other icons - they are not bothered at all - they think this is hilarious - but when someone curses Jesus - it really hurts my feelings and others I know don't like it either. What are your thoughts on this?

In my high school, the livestrong bracelet became a fad. People wore them cause they were the in thing, which is sad. I still have mine even though I don't wear them anymore (I had several, never got the make poverty history one though...) and I always look at them with pride cause they actually meant something to me.

Do you capatlize "Someone" when someone is God?

Anyway.....imagine I said I love women, but I'm a tad jealous, and none of them are really worthy of my love....but I love them all.

You get what I'm saying, you can't really love someone when you create a universe strictly for a race of intelligent* beings to worship you, no matter what you do to them. Natural disasters, viruses, bacteria, poorly divided resources, and Job oh poor Job.

* - debatable

So a young man grows up in India. His family is Hindu, his neighbors as well. He grows up going to the Hindu temple. He lives his life well and does what his family, friends and society expect. He never harms a single person.

One day he runs into a christian missionary. He talks to him a few times but ultimately decides to stay in his original faith. The next day he gets hit by a car and dies.

Please explain to me how this kind young man DESERVES eternal torture and punishment. Does the missionary have any culpability? If he had made a better argument, that young man might have come to jesus.

if he was the son of God, he can not sin, or if he was God. So this so called divine man comes knowing that he can stop the crusifix, kills himself for us.........so to say. So God had to SIN to save us......he is not the messiah, for he is no better than us. does 2 wrongs make a right? Sin for a sin? So God is now a sinner now is he, a murderer of himself. He knows we can not help but to sin. He will save us another way. Not because we are retarted in sin and need a saviour. He will grace us with his love and power, He just wants us to follow his laws and try not to sin. Or if you seek him you can obey all his laws heartfully. The laws of God are not something wicked, but to direct you. He did not write these laws just to kill himself to save us from them. Why write them??????????????

I work with some Mormons at work. Though they are very congenial good people, I had to wonder. What if an Athiest put on a white shirt and tie and walked down the street preaching that to believe in any superhuman micromanager was ridiculous. How far do you think he'd get before getting beat up. I saw a show where a couple of guys went to "the passion of christ" in devil suits and got drinks poured on them. I also saw a guy get beat up on a street corner for holding a sign saying "the devil was framed". I also heard of a couple of wars that have been waged in the name of yahwey. Okay, more than a couple. This question mainly references the "Yahweyan" religions of judaism, christianity, mormonism, and Islam(as I am sure you know they all worship the same god). Why do religious people insist that athiests and people of other religions tiptoe around their values? Yet they inundate everyone with their incessant pontifications on tv billboards door to door radio politics bumper stickers...?
