Who told you that? It is false. Not all of the professors there are even LDS. The only rule is that they do not teach anything that is against Mormon doctrine and they live by the same standards that is expected of all LDS members. There are many students who are also not members of the Church. They just must agree to live by the same standards as the LDS students.

BYU employees do not, but anyone else employed by the church must be worthy temple recommend holders.

The student employees didn't. I worked as a custodian in U-Hall (yeah, yeah, U-Haul, we got that a lot..) in Deseret Towers for a couple of years without being endowed.
