Since Christians believe God had a son and not a daughter?

And Dont you think God would have seen this question coming when He decided to have this 'son'?

for all of you fellow atheists, what would you think if we had our own church? to further expand OUR belief? christians, jews, and every other religion has their own church in which they basically learn more about their own religion, well, why not atheists? after all, we are the ones getting yelled on for not knowing our basic knowledge of our beliefs. in my opinion, i think it would be pretty cool. although it would stir controversy with society, especially the religious. what do you think?

wasn't he just stating the same cult beliefs shared by several communal Messianic groups in the region?

Reject your family and join the commune, do not touch the dead, do not eat meat, do not marry.

These were the by laws of every Messianic cult in the region, including the Pythagoreans, Theraputae, Essenes, Ebionites, and Nasoreans.

Biblical scholars have long associated the early Jewish Christians with these cults.

Are these the values that Christians cling to?

Or do you just toss out Jesus and embrace Paul and his popularized version of the Messiah?

I saw a lot of questions and answers, that give the impression the person who made them were very religious. But i see around me everyday people that say they love God, and yet do a lot of harm to other people, on purpose and with no regrets. Do you really believe in God and live by the moral rules or is it just an appearence you like to have? Can you say that, by calling atheists "idiots" and saying your religion is the only true one, you show your love to God?
I'm not a very religious person and not necesarily proud of this, but i think the way we act in our society and the way we act with the people that are in needs is how we show if we believe in God or not.
What do you see around you, and how do you see yourself?

It always puzzles me when people say that, while they may not be able to prove god exists, nor can atheists prove he dosn't exist.

Isn't the burden of proof with the believer?

If the burden of proof were to lie with those who don't believe something rather than those who do, wouldn't that open things up for progress to grind to a complete standstill as everyone wasted time trying to prove that there were no pink teapots orbiting the sun and other such nonsense?

I've seen it so often here......christians suggesting that the apparent lack of an explanation for something is evidence of god's existence.

The ID crowd are particularly guilty of this, saying our lack of understanding of something or other (that's invariably been explained anyway) is proof of a "designer".

Why don't they understand that using god to fill gaps in our knowledge does not qualify as proof of his existence?

Why don't they have the pateince to accept that just as we have learnt much over the last few thousand years, there is much that we will learn in the next few thousand and beyond?

Knowledge of God is ingrained in mankind.

Even the premitive societies / groups had concept of God and Goddess. No matter what attributs were givem to their God(s)due to lack of knowledge but they could not reject the main concept of God!!

How come you totally deny the concept of God??

Do you have any thing (plan/Rule) to achieve peace & harmony in your society?? I think it is NONE!!

Do you have any witness, consensus or approval in support of your immaginative thoughts...NONE!!

If you don't find any...which you don't have! Why don't you accept one of the prevailling faiths having 124,000 Witnesses of prophets of God???

I think total rejection of so many witnessess is not fair even if some differences are evident in Faiths!!

Truth prevailes itself...and falshood perishes.
This is the only reason as to why majority of world is "Believer of God". You seems to be at dead-end!!

Re-birth is easier than you think!!

Think about Salvation and Eternal life...

According to Philo and Josephus practically all of the Jewish and Greek Messianic cults of the first century were vegetarian and many didn't allow marriage.

The Christians in Judea, whoever they actually were, shared many of the beliefs and practices associated with the Pythagoreans, Theraputae, Nasoreans, Essenes, etc., such as communal living, rejection of Temple Sacrifice, refusal to bury the dead or come in contact with the dead, a leader or central figure who was considered a 'Teacher' and even a Messiah.

I'm not saying that they definitely were, but if the Christians weren't vegetarians they would have been practically the only Messianic group in the region that wasn't.

Most of the reasons for thinking they weren't come from the letters of Paul who cannot be considered a reliable source for the practices of the Jerusalem Church since he disagreed with them on so many subjects and slandered them more than once. The Gospels are unreliable for the same reason.

I personally feel that the only way these religeous bastards will make sense in lives is if aliens invade us and give us insight into the wonders of the universe. Even then, these guys would give us a bad name by insisting that aliens are bad for being intellectually superior.

They would also embarres us by trying to convert the aliens who are millions of years ahead of us and clearly realise how futile religeon is.

These aliens would show us recordings of how humanity evolved over time but the all knowing religeon would brand them has infedels and say they must be killled. The aliens would then easily overpower us and we athiests will look like idiots thansk to 'God'

Hopefully the aliens only exterminate religeous guys and spare us atheists. We could be the only ones to help them you know because according to 'God' these aliens are menaces, we however will accept aliens and i am only too willing to run away with them.

like 7 candles, churchs, stars, angels, trumpets, scrolls, horns, eyes, lamps, and spirits and it took God to make earth in 7 days or 4 beasts, horsemen, angels at each corner of the earth and then theres 1 throne with 12 thrones on each side... and the rest of the bible says 40 like 40 days for jesus, years for moses, days for noah, and the period from Jesus' resurrection till his ascension into heaven, spent three consecutive periods of "forty days and forty nights" on Mount Sinai, and Lent consists of the 40 days preceding Easter... theres more than meets the eye

John the Baptist ;-baptised people telling them of the coming of Jesus to baptise them with the Holy Spirit -in Mark chapter 1.

I know it works!

I am born a Jew taught to reject Jesus -now I have Him in my heart in the Holy Spirit-He is my messiah, savior and best friend.

who do you think John was speaking of that would give the Holy Spirit?
