He told the truth - that Adam and Eve would not "die" if they ate from the tree of knowledge (as God had warned). He thought Adam and Eve should have a choice. He believed they should be educated. He basically freed them from a life of dependence and ignorance.

How come with any other character like that we'd be cheering him on. But in Satan's case - everyone's down on him even though he seems to be the real hero of the story. Anyone else agree?

I work as a tour guide at a Museum, and give interactive tours all day. I have guests that come up and ask me some of the stupidest questions. For example, we have an ENTRANCE sign right by the front of where the tour starts. Guests will ask "Where's the entrance?" Gee, maybe where the entrance sign is? They also ask things like "Where's the bathroom?" when there are signs that clearly say BATHROOMS right in front of them! So last week, a family of four come up to me and ask "Where's the entrance for this tour?" Mind you, Im standing Right in front of the entrance, with the Sign saying ENTER HERE next to me. So I replied "Right where it says entrance you morons!" I said it sort of irratated, but still trying to smile. The lady reported me for rudeness, and I was fired later that day. Even though I told my story and claimed they should have known where the entrance was. Why was I fired for simply putting these idiots in their place?

It seems that every time someone asks for proof, or, in fact, basically ANYTHING about god(s), all of the answers from believers are quotes from scripture... Uhm.. Why??

Ive heard that before changing you must say Bismillah otherwise the shaitaan can see you in the nude. Is this true? Do all Muslims say Bismillah before changing? Is it compulsary? What if you dont-- will it even matter because Allah will be guarding you depending on your level of faith, right?

And for the sisters... What made you wear/ not choose to wear the hijab? As a Man, I feel really proud as a Mulim to see a Muslim sister wear the hijab and represent her religion despite the glances and the whispers. I have utter most respect for her and to me she would be the most beautiful woman amongst many beacause her beauty lies in her dignity.

Many people learned in elementary school that a theory falls in the middle of a hierarchy of certainty--above a mere hypothesis but below a law. Scientists do not use the terms that way, however. According to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), a scientific theory is "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that can incorporate facts, laws, inferences, and tested hypotheses." No amount of validation changes a theory into a law, which is a descriptive generalization about nature. So when scientists talk about the theory of evolution--or the atomic theory or the theory of relativity, for that matter--they are not expressing reservations about its truth.

In addition to the theory of evolution, meaning the idea of descent with modification, one may also speak of the fact of evolution. The NAS defines a fact as "an observation that has been repeatedly confirmed and for all practical purposes is accepted as 'true.'"

Does this quote surprise you? What are your thoughts on it? How does it make you feel?

"The Prophet respected the autonomy of the Christian churches. The nomination and the appointment of bishops and priests was left to the Christian community itself.

Prophet Muhammad promoted cooperation between Muslims and Christians in the political arena as well. He selected a non-Muslim, 'Amr-ibn Umaiyah-ad-Damri, as an ambassador to Negus, the King of Ethiopia."

Why get offended so much when we question your God's omnipotence/etc.? I asked a question about if God could "sin" because he's always benevolent (e.g., he could order us all to kill (he does, btw, in the Bible) and it would be GOOD and JUST because he's perfect (and even while it contradicts him if + while he ordered the opposite).

Perhaps (some of) you Christians are so offended by homosexuals (for being different from you) that my mentioning Jesus being able to partake in homosexual activites was fine for him since he *is* God and God can do whatever he wants (omnipotent, remember?) that you wanted the question taken off.

Going to take this one down too? Because it "offends" you? Because you're homophobes? Because it makes your heads hurt to think?

I'm astonished that Jews and Christians aren't one family in the 21st century. Isn't the evidence from the Bible overwhelming, that Jews and Christians are one people? Is it too much to hope that Jews and Christians and Muslims will one day recognise their common heritage, and embrace each other in love and friendship? Even writing this, it sounds controversial, but for God's sake, why should it be? I'm relatively young, neither Jew nor Xtian nor Muslim, but I truly don't understand it. Please enlighten me with intelligent, thoughtful answers.

What does GOD mean by Genesis 3:16 ?

16 To the woman He said:
“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.”

Does this give the husband the right to totally control and or abuse the woman ???

Actually, paleontologists know of many detailed examples of fossils intermediate in form between various taxonomic groups. One of the most famous fossils of all time is Archaeopteryx, which combines feathers and skeletal structures peculiar to birds with features of dinosaurs. A flock's worth of other feathered fossil species, some more avian and some less, has also been found. A sequence of fossils spans the evolution of modern horses from the tiny Eohippus. Whales had four-legged ancestors that walked on land, and creatures known as Ambulocetus and Rodhocetus helped to make that transition [see "The Mammals That Conquered the Seas," by Kate Wong; Scientific American, May]. Fossil seashells trace the evolution of various mollusks through millions of years. Perhaps 20 or more hominids (not all of them our ancestors) fill the gap between Lucy the australopithecine and modern humans.
