It seems that every time someone asks for proof, or, in fact, basically ANYTHING about god(s), all of the answers from believers are quotes from scripture... Uhm.. Why??

Because they, and I learned all that bible stuff when we were children. Some were force fed the stuff. My parents didn't preach about anything or force religion down my throat. I'm glad they didn't because I learned quickly through life events, that there couldn't possibly a God like the one in the bible. The biblical verses and scriptures that people answer with on here just remind me of what I used to think was real when I was a kid. Too bad there's no Santa Claus though- that would be awesome!!!

Heres a question... how come anytime a Christian or any person that believes in a higher power asks for a scientific fact to prove someones statement I never get a response or a fact..I just get personal opinions. By the way I have asked multiple times where someone has found something they have stated was a fact and never gotten an answer....where is my proof. Prove me wrong with facts, but use sources I will believe unbiased scientific studies...done by both non-christian and christian scientists... To me it is like when an Atheist says well the bible says this.. and just quotes something obscure.. well at least give me the verse that you are quoting.. and you might want to include the one before and after it.. so that it is not taken out of context.. (by the way I am not meaning you as in the asker of this question)

Plus I believe in the Bible so that is my source..usually when you are asking a question about God it is hard to find scientifically proven answers since believing in god is mostly just about having faith..

Just thought I might throw that out there and play devils advocate.. no pun intended.

oThanks for the question. Very interesting. Because the Bible, the Book of Mormon, The Quran, or whatever you use is the same thing as a math or science or English book. When you want to learn something, what medium do you usually turn to? (besides TV lol..) Books. So, quoting from a religious book, no matter which one, is just like consulting a textbook for an answer. Have a great day!!

Whoa there Nelly.. let's put this into perspective here.
You put an S on the end of that.. the only ones quoting some age-old "scripture" are the monotheists.. the polytheists don't ask you to believe anything, nor do they say their way is right for anyone but them.

When you ask the monotheists for proof, because they keep saying their way is the only way.. they always throw scripture at you.. because they believe it's their god's word.. that's all they think they need as proof.

I don't need no stink'n bible verses to show you proof! I have experienced a lot of things through God before and while I am following God's word! I received the holy spirit before I came to the church that I am in now because I had faith in Jesus and God, no doubt. The holy spirit is pretty powerful, it came through me one day and wiped away my pain and depression that I was experienced that day. I experienced the numbers that God uses; the ultimate witness (2). I saw an angel that looked like an human and then vanished in front of my eyes. One night I was driving back home from ministering to some one and was falling asleep and on the third time, like a bolt of lighting God hit me in the head with something like pins and needles but was not painful, also from my elbows to my hands. I was wide awake until i got home. You will see the proof in your faith in him when you lay hands on somebody and heal them by the power of God through the your faith, just like it says in the bible. Our Church has done this. AlsoTo cast out demons. The only way that you can experience this is to go to a nondenominational church and learn God's word, be obedient and be baptized by the holy spirit. If you sit home and do nothing, then you so not beleive in God. You belive in electricty (you can not see it orsmell it), you figured out how to use it in your benift but you do not do the same for God! www.mylordmysavior.com

When you ask for proof are you limiting the answers? That is the only proof I need. It is the written word of God. The other proof I have I can only tell you about, because it comes from with in and if you don't except Gods word, why would you except mine.

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.

It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

What exaclty are you looking for? a photograph or something?

I got my own personal proof that he exists through certain events in my life that would explain how God works and that he must exist and everyday he still manages to prove himself real to me... basically alot of unexplainable (that science definatly can't answer) things happen in my life. In my life all signs point to his existence. Obviosly that's not good enough for you but whatever, i personally don't care what you or anyone else thinks.

Maybe the Word of God is the basis of their beliefs. If you want other "proof" maybe ask the question and specify to show proof NOT from the Bible.

That's like saying I want proof of who committed a murder, but then disregarding all the eye witness testimony. The different books of the Bible are eye witness testimony.
