this is what i honestly think: some people do make mistakes[not knowing that it will hurt someone] while others make mistakes knowing that they will be forgiven. i have a friend of mine who cheated on his gf and he's like well she has to forgive me cause it's in the bible, i have a friend who's father is abusive but after each time he hits the mother he asks forgiveness and it is given to him. yes i know it is in the Bible to forgive and i know that Jesus would but i'm sorry peoepl are taking this forgiveness thing to far!!! forgiving someone for stealing is one thing but cheating, hitting or murder or even something else, isnt that extending the meaning of the word?? and the way the Bible intended it to be?? like fool me once shame on you but fool me twice shame on me you know!!

I have been wondering...and have been looking on the internet for the answer to my question......I believe in God and Jesus....however, I dont believe They have as much power as everyone says they do and I am not Athiest. I think that There is a God who created the world and died for our sins but He cannot be like everyone says. Can anyone help me out here? Is there a religion that also believes in this?

The first rain and heat of summer have passed, and its time for mushrooms hunting. Ive tossed around the idea in the past, but figured id post it here to you guys for help. Should I tell the farmer that im a student looking to collect mushrooms for a mycology project and see if (s)he would be ok with that, or just forget about it and trespass. im not too sure whether or not the farmer would be suspicious, but ive hunted before without asking, and the result was ok. any thoughts? please no answers telling me not to do it thnx =]

Why aren't Christians doing greater works than Jesus did, since he himself said they would (John 14:12)? The context is clearly referring to miracles. Do you think being able to quote the bible is enough or do you think you should put some of these passage's written into practice?

I've heard this phrase used to describe Catholic traditions like bells and incense being used in Church. A friend asked me why I wasn't offended by it. I said it didn't bother me at all, because the "smells and bells" are something that I really love about our faith. The incense is a reminder of our prayers rising up to God. It is also a sign of purification. And the bells are a way of calling us to worship, and also a symbol of our joy. What's wrong with that?

What do you think? Are you offended by this phrase?

I mean the worms who get evicted from peas, apples, pears and so on.
They had a good life, they could eat out as many bedrooms for
themselves as they wished, it smelled good all around them (say, an apple as a house), and these fruit and vegetables were theirs by the right of the first possession.
Then people come and evict worms without any notice and any
compensation. These worms die on the streets from hunger and cold.
Their cozy houses are taken from them.
There should be the law to protect the worms and they should be given a new house to live in and eat instead of one taken from them.

I am a catholic. I am tired of all these christians that say all people from Islam will go to hell. Tired of the ones that say "Muslims are Satans servents" Tired of the ones that eventually lead to murder, using our holy book as justice. Tired of the ones that discriminate Buddhists, Jews, and even non believers.

Jesus said even though they may not know about me, if the live by god, (a moral good life) they will be rewarded in heaven.

They are fueled by hatred not by the Lords Words.

-You insist that we must interpret the Bible literally.
-You insist that unless a person turns from their supposed sin, that they will not inherit the kingdom of God.

So,

1 Corinthians 6:9 says fornicators, adulterers and homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. Luke 16:18 says that anyone who divorces and remarries is committing adultery.

50% of the country is divorced, unless the divorced remain celibate...they do not turn from their sin, so will not go to heaven.

10% of the country is gay, again, no turning away from sin, no heaven.

A large number of people have filed bankruptcy, or defaulted on school loans or credit card debt...if they never repay, they never turned form their sin, so will go to hell.

People who die fat, have never turned from their sin of gluttony...so, will go to hell.

People who have to start their morning off with caffeine, be it coffee or coke, have mad that their idol...so, are addicted and will not go to heaven.

Why isn't there a book of Jesus in the bible? Surely he could have written something in his own hand to pass on to future generations.

I don't know about you, but if I was Jesus, I would have written something for the religion I was talking about.

Do you agree with this answer to the natural/divine nature of marriage question?

Marriage was instituted by the Pope to curb the syphilis epidemic being caused by all the "fuckadillo" that was going on.

Source(s):

Yes, that's where the word comes from. Thanks Dr Weber!

Marriage is much more than a divine covenant, state sanction or contractual agreement. It is a promise made by a man to honor and protect a woman and the children she bares though his or her entire lifetime. It is a guarantee to be together forever. Right Babe? And, no…I’m not a Christian, in the modern sense of the word.

And...God offered Adam many "helpers" in the garden. He rejected the goat, cow and jackass, holding out for a real woman. Please read Genesis before spouting scripture.

Do you guys enjoy this board? I pop in here sometimes to read the questions and the answers and I see the same people --even if I come back in a month. Do you guys ever go outside?...j/k...
Seriously though, what is it about religion that makes people so crazy... I mean you don't really know the truth so why do you preach (even non believers) your faith or militant protests against faith. You're not going to get anywhere, people are stubborn, so why do you bother? I really want to know.
