I`m a teacher and sometimes when I look at my crowd of hormonal adolescents I can`t help wondering if they`ll remember me with affection in twenty years time or hunt me down and slash my car tyres!!

Sometimes they need to do this. The world is not the same it was 5000, 2000, or 1000 years ago, and our views are not the same, so why shouldn't religions modernize themselves? There is new technology that wasn't around when religions began, and new knowledge not only of a spirtiual or religious nature. Christianity would still be Christianity with updates, Islam still Islam, etc, etc.

I am not addressing only these two religions, and I know that there are religions in the world that have updated themselves.

Why can't trinis stand jamaicans! I always hear trinis talk bad about jamaicans. I almost never hear a jamaican say two cents about trinis until asked..and its always.."i don't really like them too much..cuz they don't like us"
In fact, most of the caribbean can't stand trinis or jamaicans? And wherever jamaicans go, people either really love them or really hate them? WHY?

I personally think its a hatred that was built by the generation before this one b/c it seems that the younger generation has no problem with one another..embracing each others culture and music, and people..

But the older generation has to constantly point out that their dislikes of one another..
Also I think its purely misunderstanding and lack of respect for each others culture and personality..

Ok, this is less a question than to clearify the tons of confused athiests (and Christians alike) who seem to like to believe that there is no evidence to back up the Bible. Here are some historical books from the Romans and Other sources outside of the Bible which verify the existance of Jesus and a number of the events in the Bible.

Herodotus 488-428 b.c.
Thucydides 460-400 b.c.
Tacitus 100 a.d.
Caesar's Gaelic War 58-50 b.c.
Livy's Roman History 59 b.c. - 17 a.d.

We have tons of copies of the New Testament going back to 130 a.d. only about 30 years after it was compiled. These verify that what people wrote has been accurately recorded and translated to the modern new testament. Not to mention it was written by many people. Of these least 4 who claim to be eyewitnesses to Jesus.

If there is just the God and Goddess and they have no names like Isis, Osiris, Zues, and Hera then why do some wiccans say a specific God and Goddess revealed themselves to them(to the wiccan)?
I'm just trying to understand because I'm converting to Wiccan.

I don't see the problem with them as long as the child is old enough to understand the difference between fantasy and reality. I think it's great that kids are reading and expanding their vocabularies and imaginations. But I know that a lot of Christian families think these books are bad for their children and I would like to know what some of you think.

Somewhere on ANSWERS, I saw the term "differently abled" being used and I thought that was a very cumbersome expression. What ARE we supposed to say NOW? It's really very difficult to keep up with all of these changes.

Do you believe that you are both given free will to make your own decisions in life yet at the same time have a predetermined destiny? To you believe everything that happens is God's Will? If so, how can you also believe that YOU have free will?

I'd think you'd want to encourage as mucgh scientific research as possible, thinking you might one day actually find the proof of your god.

So why are so many against it?
