Then what is the reason?

I'd think you'd want to encourage as mucgh scientific research as possible, thinking you might one day actually find the proof of your god.

So why are so many against it?

And note I said "many" not "all"

at the start - the scientific technique is purely a philosophical gadget. One makes use of it. One does no longer draw on the factor of it. Secondly - there are some people who use the scientific technique who're very religious. people who use the scientific technique are rightly referred to as scientists. no longer all scientists artwork in labs and placed on white coats. an incredible style of people conflate science and technologies. The physique of scientific know-how looks to oppose fundamentalist dogma to a miles better volume as further and extra data accrues. there is the snarl. extra liberal theists are tender with an evolving definition of god. The fundies tend to have a splash extra hardship with their cognitive dissonance and tend to react strongly against scientific concept and additionally evidential fact. concept is as good because it gets. data are reserved for data. Hypotheses are tentative descriptions of ways those products of information work together. Theories are properly examined hypotheses that evaluate all the data at face cost and have under no circumstances been disproved. enable's inspect an occasion. fact: A 6' man or woman can see no extra beneficial than 8 miles to the horizon at sea point. fact: the better you are the extra the horizon looks. fact: for the time of lunar eclipses the Earth's shadow on the Moon is often around. concept: The Earth is as a result around. Theories can under no circumstances grow to be data. data help theories. In actual and organic and organic science there's no such ingredient as a data. Proofs exist in easy terms interior the realm of arithmetic and boolean good judgment. The scientific technique works to disprove hypotheses no longer tutor them. That way one isn't tempted to discover what they're finding for. Scientists will under no circumstances concoct a hypothesis to objective the existence of god. it fairly is untestable. A being it fairly is untestable could besides no longer exist. via fact, for all intents and purposes, it does not. human beings don't have an automatic precise to an opinion or concept. One does have the the superb option to create a logically valid argument to recent their ideals. If one can't try this, what's the factor of concept? finally - "science won't be able to discover something God did no longer placed there..." presupposes the existence of God. the theory that there is a writer via fact there's a universe that some human beings call a introduction via fact they suspect that there is a writer, is a ridiculously around and semantic argument.

it's not fear - - it is LOVE!

Another response I have about it is -
DOUBLED UP ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING SO HARD!
I feel it's so FUNNY and SAD at the same time that some people actually believe:
1) they are the result of a COSMIC FART
2) they are offsprings of monkeys & baboons
WAIT! I'm laughing sooo hard right now - - hahahahaha

Okay - - ME? I choose to believe and I KNOW without a shadow of doubt that:
1) I am NOT an accident
2) I am created for a purpose much grander that I could ever imagine
3) I am wonderfully & carefully (fearfully) made
4) I am descendant of REAL HUMAN BEINGS - - and not - - hahahahahahahaha (sorry - I can't help it!) MONKEYS!

So my response to these "so-called" scientific whatever is NEVER FEAR but - - hahahahahahah - - just pure unadulterated LAUGHTER. Omigosh! hahahahahahah ROFL!!

And then SADNESS that people actually believe and accept this junk!!

You are assuming a false premise.

Christians do not "fear" scientific discoveries.
This belief comes from their moral stand on some aspects of T-cell research and rejection of some of the concepts of the theory of evolution, of which many in the scientific community also have disagreement.

Science has always been man's attempts to explain and understand the things of God.

fear is the main belief, for christians...
and because scientific proof and Universal Truth has eliminated christianity from Spirituality !

Here's the Solution for christianity:

Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.

<<<<<<< UnConditional Love is the only answer >>>>>>>

Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.

"religion is Spiritual fraud";
"religion is the Worse invention of humanity";
"Universal Truth has eliminated religion from Spirituality",
quotes of Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.

"When a person is freed of religion, they have a better chance to live a normal and wholesome life." S. Freud

Here are some of my quotes:

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
Freedom of religion is Freedom from religion.

atheists = all the people in religion = all the ignorant fundamentalists = all the cults/superstitions = paganism = wicca = xians = homosexuals/lesbians = skinheads = politicians = lawyers.

What the heck are you talking about? When was the last time Christians reacted "aggressively or even violently to scientific discoveries"?

2007-06-08 07:39:15 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Faith of any variety (especially Islam) requires the faithful to abandon reason and rationality in order to maintain the illusions they were raised with. This is nothing new. Although I don't mean to single out Muslims for my abuse, it is worth noting that they are markedly more violent/ignorant/intolerant than any other variety of the faithfully delusional. It's like we're reincarnated Christians from the Spanish Inquisition and given them a new name. That's how backwards they are. Anyway, sorry about the rant, but I hope I've answered your question.

Some people have enough faith in their religion, whatever it may be, to allow science the freedom to explore and make discoveries. Others are afraid that science might expose inconvenient facts they can't explain. These people give religion a bad name.

Because humans tend to be aggressive, violent, ignorant people.

Were you to closely observe the behavior of scientists themselves, you would find them to be as petty as the next person. Just ask any graduate student.

Why do you expect Christians to behave so differently?

All religion derives from the ignorant intellectual infancy of our species. Claiming infallibility during this stage paints you into a nasty corner. Nowhere to go - that's why the claws come out.
