Agnosticism (from the Greek "a," meaning "without," and Gnosticism or "gnosis," meaning knowledge) means "unknowable," and is the philosophical view that the truth value of certain claims—particularly theological claims regarding metaphysics, afterlife or the existence of God, god(s), deities, or even ultimate reality—is unknown or, depending on the form of agnosticism, inherently unknowable due to the nature of subjective experience.

Agnostics claim either that it is not possible to have absolute or certain knowledge of God or gods; or, alternatively, that while certainty may be possible, they personally have no knowledge. Agnosticism in both cases involves some form of skepticism

I'm Agnostic and have been very happy with my life now that I found I was not alone in my beliefs ! I will not get in a heated argument on if there is a god or big bang or any such crap ! Some things are just unknowable or beyond our comprehension, why so many people are willing to fight and kill over something no one knows the answers to is just so sad to me !
The one thing we know for sure is that we know nothing for sure !

There are two definitions, actually.

First, there is the popular definition of "I don't know if a god exists". This is more accurately called "weak atheism". Weak atheism is a lack of belief in a god because of lack of evidence for any. Anybody who is not convinced that a god exists, is properly called an atheist.

The second definition goes back to Huxley, who coined the term, and it really has nothing to do with whether you believe a god exists or not. The word agnostic comes from "a-", meaning not, and "gnostic". A gnostic is someone who claims direct evidence, usually through contact, of a god. Therefore, an agnostic is someone who believes that such direct knowledge of the existence of a god is impossible. This means there can be theistic agnostics. Those who say, "God exists but there's no evidence. You just have to have faith" can be called theistic agnostics. An atheistic agnostic would be someone who doesn't see any evidence of a god existing and doesn't believe there could be any.

Personally, I think that any of the gods that people attribute concrete characteristics to could have evidence to support their existence. If a god created stone tablets, then we should be able to see those tablets and deduce that no man could have created them. However, most gods are undefined or ambiguous. For those gods, no evidence can be, even theorectically, brought forth to show or disprove its existence. So, I'm a gnostic towards specific gods, and agnostic towards the rest.

Agnosticism is a concept which states that the existence or non existence of any god or gods or goddess or goddesses is unknowable. One can be an Agnostic Atheist which means that they don't believe in the existence in any god or gods or goddess or goddesses but that they aren't sure or they don't know that none don't exist. One can be an Agnostic Theist which means that they believe in the existence of a god or goddess or gods or godddesses but they aren't sure or they don't know for sure that they do exist. Then there are Agnostics who are in between both Agnostic Theists and Agnostic Atheists and they simply feel that the existence or non existence of any god or gods or godddess or goddesses is unknowable.

Agnosticism is the view that the existence of God is impossible to be known or proven. The word “agnostic” essential means “without knowledge.” Agnosticism is a more intellectually honest form of atheism. Atheism claims that God does not exist – an improvable position. Agnosticism argues that God’s existence cannot be proven or unproven – that it is impossible to know whether God exists. In this concept, agnosticism is correct. God’s existence cannot be empirically proven or disproven.

Someone can be agnostic for a variety of reasons. They may say, "I don't have enough information to know if any god exists" or "No human living in the natural world can know if a supernatural entity exists."
