does anyone else who is a catholic, lutheran, orthadox, or anglican see how todays left protestant denominations parishoners like methodist, abundant life, baptists, pentacostal etc, etc seem to just go to different churches like it doesnt mean a thing. i see this in people i know. they are going to a church for a while and then poof they are at another church simply b/c it suits theyre fancy. WHATS WITH THAT? dont they realize they are essentially going from one doctrine to another. all these churches have different ideals about what christianity should be. who can explain this to me? serious educated religious people only. priest and pastors welcome.

I remember that saying being told to me when i was 18 , I went to pubs and would try to talk and ask people their opinions about religion and try to talk philosophical and all that about government and politics, but I remember seeing a few older men grinning at me about what i was saying tas if they were agreeing with my thoughts , but they told me that there are two things you dont talk about , especially in pubs, and that is religion and politics. Why is that so true on this Yahoo Answers?

I used to be a real nasty piece of work. I hated groups of people with a passion, notably Jews and Pakistanis (without ever actually interacting with them!). I was part of a teenage gang that got in to inter-racial fights and smashed up foreign-owned shops on the high street. I was an uneducated, blinkered thug who lived for violence and the 'White cause'.

Then I saw something that changed my life. A few friends and I were following a particularly vocal Jewish shop owner home from owrk one night with the intention of beating him. We saw him go in his house, then the kitchen light come on, and his wife there- she handed him their baby, and after a hard day at work, the shop owner hugged the baby to his chest.

It was then I realised we're all the same. We all love our families, we all laugh at jokes, we all like sunsets and cool drinks on hot days. I was dumbstruck by the evil I had done and put it as right as I could with my own means.

Let's all just get along?

I've have found my friend to be ignoring me because of my religious choice, he is a christian and i am a pagan (i was agnostic before) because it feels right to me, ever since he got baptised as a born-again, i feel that he has been brainwashed by his friend andy, who shoves his beliefs onto me (wearing a cross out and occasional ranting about god and how i am a devil worshipper, blah, blah, blah). i am the only real friend that he's got (he fell out with my other friend), but i know do know that as soon as he has a fall-out with this andy, he'll want to be my friend again (because he won't have anybody else to turn to), my parents said that i shouldn't talk to him again, i find that he talks to me a lot less now because he goes to christian church and everytime he sees me he either ignores me or turns around and walks off, i feel that he is laughing at me behind my back with his christian friends, its very annoying and upsetting,

What do you think i should do about this??

I am fairly new to Yahoo Answers, and a few of the answers I have gotten to my questions have been pretty shallow and I would say childish. I am just curious who i am asking question to ?

Are most people who answer questions interested mainly in getting points like it is a game or is their serious intellectual discussion on here?

If I have pre-marital sex with a girl, which is considered a sin, yet I marry her 2years later, what do I become? Am I now a saint again? This is what confuses me about God's word. And if the word of God says that God considers a man and a women married once they have sex, why must one get married to eventually have sex? Can one then say that it is all a matter of the heart and a matter of intent? (By no means am I trying to redicule or make fun of the Bible, just asking.)

I have no use for weak, tiny minds that quarrel by using worn-out labels (Christian, atheist, liberal, conservative), or that make it their hobby to insult others because of their beliefs.

That being said, are there any here that would accept the label "Deist" to describe their spiritual feelings, and if so, how do you react to all the other vicious Christian bashing and atheist baiting that goes on here?

Please weigh in and show the others that there are some mature people here that have no use for pointless religious quarrels; that it is possible to enjoy life without being "charismatic" or hateful.

Perhaps offer your particular view on life.

I've ask this question before .... (How many black queens has there been in England).. And the amount of thumps down i got was amazing.So now i'm asking with the answer there in the history books why is it so hard to accept..Yor accept St George who wasn't English .Even those of you who believe in him accept jesus who must of been dark skinned coming from where he came from.So why is it so hard to accept that there was two black queens who were real .I could give you their names .But i would hope that you would look it up before answering
