It's called faith....To know all of the evil in the world, but to trust in the fact that God is in control.
God does not cause evil in the world, Satan does. Evil people choose to do evil things. It's called free will. God gives us free will, and gives us the choice. Will we do what is good and right or will we do what we want regardless of the consequences to ourselves and others? It is a very sad, mean and hurtful world out there but if you read the Bible, Jesus tells us that things such as this will happen more and more towards the end. The end is near, my friend, and Jesus is coming back for his believers.

From a Buddhist perspective, what relieves suffering is understanding that nothing that exists is inherently pleasurable and learning to stop attaching and grasping to the things you THINK are, and then NOT losing "it" when things aren't going our way.

I'll use a common type of suffering for an example: You bust your tush at a job (maybe it pays great, maybe not) to make money. Are you making that money just to survive or are you making money and worried because you're not making enough just to get "stuff"? Once you make more money and get "stuff" are you really happy? NO. The more money you make, the more stuff you get, the more society expects you to get more stuff (you've got an "image" to keep up now, which is unrealistic in reality), PLUS now you've got to sweat out how to PROTECT that stuff, which of course BREAKS or fades out, or dies... then you're suffering again, 1) because you lost the "old" one, 2) because you've got to buy a new one and new "stuff" is generally not cheap .... so on and so forth.

When you start to reflect on that fact that everything is basically what people label as "suffering" to one degree or another, you begin to look at things in a new "light". What's really creating this "suffering"? Your mind... you're grasping and attaching yourself to an ILLUSION and suffering because, like all sentient beings, we all just want to be happy right?

Happiness is a middle way... not too much aversion when bad things come our way and not grasping and attaching to things we think are bringing us true happiness. It does NOT mean we cannot ENJOY things... it just means we don't need to get so "clingy" to things.

If you can grasp onto that and start really thinking about it, and apply it to your life, it just might lessen some of this suffering you're perceiving... but do so with patience for yourself and others... physical pain is real, but how we approach it can reduce the amount of perceived suffering, we can lay in bed and wail and feel sorry for ourselves, or we can just rest calmly and let our body do the work along with whatever meds/herbs a doc has given us to help fight.

Tragedy, suffering... it's a cold hard reality... how we face it, no matter what religion we profess to believe is what makes the difference. I believe this is the message even Jesus was trying to get across to his followers too.

May you find freedom from suffering and it's causes, and find happiness and it's causes.

Simply put..."free will." These people are not suffering because of an act of God or because God hates them, they are suffering because they are unfortunate victims of acts of human evil, because those people chose to do evil. I think we are all given a choice, but unfortunately alot of people choose to do evil things. Of course its not always fair, but thats how it is. And it does suck that people have to suffer, but to take away our free will would be to take away what makes us who we are. Otherwise we'd be like rocks. There was a line in "Bruce Almighty" that summed it up pretty good...how do get people to love God without messing with free will? If everyone got what they prayed for all the time, it would be chaos. I think God is there to lay the foundation and show the way, but we have to make things right ourselves. And besides...if you really do believe, who says they are getting away with these atrocities? Just because it seems that way in this life, that doesnt mean that it will be this way in the next.

Ever heard of earth's magnetic field? it incredibly is how compasses consistently element north. It additionally falls into what they call "lay traces" that act like a grid. Birds shop on with them. no longer purely the golden plover, the two. All migratory birds, in spite of if following a coast or crossing open ocean. the two you not at all paid interest at college, or the dimwit on the pulpit you truly offered this from did no longer. Fail.

Firstly God is not our slave or servant,He does not consider us as pets to be looked after,God gave us everything we need to live together in love and harmony but we choose to hurt and abuse.
To really begin to understand the state of the world it is important to come to terms with the fall of mankind due to sinful rebellion against God and His original plan for us,I know that it is not easy to understand but basically by Adam`s disobedience the whole of creation has been in opposition to Gods will and has ruined the order that God created for us.
Jesus came to bring order out of chaos but we still have not come back to humble obedience and so we are still greedy and power seeking and this causes great suffering in the world.

I am a non-believer.

There is no place where we are all considered equal by our peers. There is no place that you describe. The only thing we can do is try to make the world a better place instead of ignoring it.

Hmmm...sorry...I just fail to understand WHY are you addressing your question to non-believers too? I'm Atheist and I see no reason why you should ask me such an obvious question, since for me there's no God whatsoever. Your question should be adddressed only to those who believe in God, not to us;)

My eyes are bleeding from the caps.

There is no god. Bad things happen. Sometimes randomly, and sometimes because there are bad people.

Your caps lock button is stuck, or you could have moved your left pinky finger 4mm more to the left, and not looked like an idiot. I couldn't even read your question, all I could think is what a moron. Any question you could ask, I wouldn't dignify with a response.
