A fleeing Taliban, desperate for water, was plodding through the Afghanistan desert when he saw something far off in the distance. Hoping to find water, he walked toward the object, only to find a little old Jewish man sitting at a card table with neckties laid out on it. The Arab said, "My thirst is killing me. Please...do you have any water?"

The Jew replied, "I have no water. Would you like to buy a tie? They are only $150. This one goes very nicely with your robes."

The Arab shouted, "Idiot! I do not need your overpriced tie. I need water!"

"OK," said the old Jew, "It does not matter that you do not want to buy a tie. I will show you that you have not offended me. If you walk over that hill to the east for about four miles, you will find a lovely restaurant. Go! Walk that way! The restaurant has all the water you need!"

The Arab staggered away toward the hill and disappeared. Eight hours later the Arab came crawling back to the Jewish man's table. The Jew said, "I told you, the restaurant with the water is about four miles over that hill. Could you not find it?"

"I found it," rasped the Arab. "But your brother wouldn't let me in without a tie!"

Firstly I just wanna say that I'm not asking this to try and offend them. I have read the bible and it appears to me as though everything thats in it contradicts with other passages at some other point. I mean they all run around saying how it's the true word of some mythical deity, complete oblivious to the fact that it was wrote by humans 2000 years ago and has changed constantly with our social evolution every few hundred years. Even in this age we have people running round spouting random qoutes from this ancient piece of literature hoping that we to will learn to be just as gullible! Please try not to be offensive with your answers!

Please can you try and take solace from my words? I only mean to do good:

Whatever your situation, try to believe in yourself. Have faith in nobody else on this earth save one: you. Perhaps your courage, conviction or self-esteem needs a boost- if this is the case, look at your situation as a fight, you vs. the World.

Puff up your chest, set your mouth in a grim line, pull your shoulders back and endure. Smash through every inconcieveable barrier with ardent stoicism. See the whole thing a fight that you don't have to win- you just have to get to the end of it.

Fight. Never stop- you're a fighter now, not a loser or a winner, but a fighter. Fight with every ounce of strength, every breath, every fibre of your being. Stand up and take it, then get ready to take even more. But never stop fighting, because this is your one chance to make it...make it on your own.

If you're going to fight, go out big. And if you're destined to go down, then go out with a bang ON YOUR FEET.

Is that how history has always been? The mass of people shout down the few people who use their brains. And they are forced to put up with people who are being owned and controlled by very crafty criminal people?

Why is it that a lot of christians preach about God in a beautiful light but then other christians preach about God in a westboro church sort of way? Wouldnt the christians who preach about God in a beautiful way gather more people into becoming christians then the ones who preach about God in a hateful way? Just curious, no insults please.

Church of the Anti-church

Religion is being blamed for so many problems in our society, from homophobia to war to discrimination and the list goes on. Should we not then begin a new Church. One that specifically targets these problems without undue discrimination against other specific religions or groups. Would you support such a church if they came up with a decent philosophy..

At Xmas, we were burgled and lost everything. I told this friend what had happened & all she did was go on about a bloke she knew and how he'd found the love of his life! She did say hope everything goes well for me. A few days later, she left me a message on my mobile to say, "I've not had one Xmas card from the temp agencies and haven't been invited to their Xmas parties". There was no mention about my suffering, she never asked anything about my burglary, how I'm managing, if I need anything etc. The latest is she emailed me to say, “I left you alone as I felt that is what you needed. We all make mistakes you know.” and then went on to talk about her own issues again. Do you think she really is caring? I would have thought that if she was a good friend, she’d have been more on the scene. All she’s kept doing is comparing when she was burgled (years ago, before I met her) and how lucky I am not to have had men with knives on them!

I thought i was bi but now i think i might be a lesbian. There are very few guys i like and when i like them i just find them very attractive but i don't wanna do anything with them, i have no desire to sleep with men, like none. and i don't wanna have a relationship with a guy, i don't dream about guys, when i think about getting married or having kids i think about a girl. and i still like getting attention from guys but don't straight girls like getting attention from gay girls too, i mean attention is always flattering no matter where it's coming from. I don't know should i call myself bi or a lesbian.
P.S i have had relationships with men in the past but none of them really worked out.

On Friday night (that same night when Jade was interviewed) on BBC 3 they aired Little Britain at 00:20. Racism was used used as comedy! There was a woman being violently sick just because the gingerbread man she was happily eating was made by an Indian child.

Thinking about it, that 'fat fighters' sketch they do is also racist; the one where she cannot understand the Indian woman...

Well I have already launched my complaint to www.ofcom.org.uk

All these complaints about one persons opinion, and here is racism intentionally being used for comedy!
