FrontPage Magazine: You make the shrewd observation of how political correctness engenders evil because of “the violence that it does to people’s souls by forcing them to say or imply what they do not believe, but must not question.” Can you talk about this a bit?

Theodore Dalrymple: Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.

According to the Bible, God will create a new Heaven and Earth. But if God is the God of Love, then why would he put us through the last few thousand years? I know that many Christians will respond by saying to test our worthiness of salvation. But he refers to us as sons and daughters, I would never put my children through such pain, suffering, guilt and judgement. Why set us up in the first place, when he would know the outcome?

my life sucks, i said already... but the people who did answer my other one, my looks do matter to me. if i look this bad, every day, i feel bad. my looks is something i just cant ignore. i get up every morning and look at myself in the mirror and ask myself 'why?'. i like to sing, and act, but its not like ill ever make it. i want to just be pretty, and big. i know, 'dont worry about your looks' but still, its hard. you probably wouldnt know how i feel, because you are probably better looking...

Hi my boyfriend and i are going on vacation to orlando and we will be there for 10 days and one of those days is valentines day so i need some help on what to do, we will be somewhere we dont know so i need some advice PLEASE..by the way we are a serious couple so nothing cheesy like for people who have only been dating a couple months, something real good. My friends burnout stepdad has am radio on 24 7. There is this show on late at night called "coast to coast" i believe, and they always want to talk about these "shadow people". What are they? And to make matters worse. Those crazies always claim they wear hats!

Christians say that the Old Testament Laws are no longer required to be followed. I've even heard some Christains say that God changed from harsh and punishing in the Old Testament, to loving and forgiving in the New Testament.

It seems to me that an eternal God would be constant, not affected by the actions of the creation. To those who believe that God changed, what caused this change? Or if you prefer, why did God change?

Homosexuals are actually born as one. There is no cure for homosexuality. So if a person is a homosexual it is not his fault. Homosexuality is not a choise.
