I don't consider myself "religious" although I do believe in a Supreme God ... and I accept your beliefs, my friend. You are exactly where you are supposed to be, as we all are.
Rock on.

This question could have many answers but fundamentally a religious person believes in a God who gives the believer a code of conduct and they are so dedicated to this that they wish others
would join with them or they see others as missing out on eternal life, or they are offending God unless they adhere to religious principles. In centuries past, sometimes power and money were involved. Unfortunately this occurs sometimes today. I am a Christian but I believe in respecting other religious beliefs and the only way of convincing a person to join with me is the example of my walk with my faith. There are also cults and a few fanatics who almost force their beliefs on others by control and manipulation. If I were you, I would just continue on your own life's journey and you will see what the mountains and valleys of life will teach you.

Actually, I believe that your sample may be skewed.
I think most religious people have no trouble accepting, (or even being nice to) people with no belief in God. I suspect this is true, even of most people in Yahoo answers.
However, look at the religion section and read the questions in order of appearance and you will note a debate of obnoxious questions ensuring. One line can read" Why are Christians such #$@*?" A couple lines later "Why are atheists such @#%$?"
The same screen names often appear, too.
So, basically, you have teenagers, or people who debate like teenagers, going back and forth acting immature. They give the rest of us bad names.
Additionally, Christianity, as does Islam, preaches that atheists will go to hell. Some people are very concerned about this and may get carried away in their expression of concern for your salvation. In their zeal, they may
come across as being rude.
That's about all I can think off.
I, myself,am a Christian and rather enjoy a well reasoned religious debate, as opposed to name calling. I hope to see more of it on this site.

It seems strange that people did not believe in God. OK, then how this whole universe came in existence? In our world, around us, a very minor thing or a small item is invented, created, developed, made or organized. We always accept that that was done by that person. We are not ready to believe that it came in existence automatically. Examples are pen, Pencil, bread, car etc.
If we say that there is no inventor or creator none will accept our claim. But in case of this universe, we blindly deny the CREATOR. What is logic behind that?
Can I request to the people to visit / listen the following:

Because most atheists try to insult other peoples religions so religious people feel that they must retaliate I am not saying that you do but other people do.I personally am not religious but I believe some thing happened I just don't have a clue what. I haven't had that faith affirming vision thing, but some thing had to have happened that much I know for sure.because I am here now.I don't know if that qualifies me as a atheist or not. I am just Confused personally

Eternal damnation awaits people who die without Jesus Christ.
If you wanted to create a religion would it be faith based or works based? Go ahead and start making out a list of what man would
have to do to go to Heaven.
In other words man creates works based religions and only God can create a faith based religion.
Think about it!. If Jesus was false, then 12 apostles made a hero out of a guy that made them look like a bunch of fools. I advise you to do a lot of reading on the bible before your time is up!

I believe in God and am Christian and before I was Christian I was agnostic so I have no problem accepting your disbelief. I would like to say that I'm happier now and my friends and family are happier with me. But I am not so arrogant as to demand you change. It would not work unless you become willing and if disbelief is working then go for it. Faith has changed me for the better but perhaps you are happy with your self now. I hope that you are honest when you think about your state of being with yourself because to thine own-self be true is a great wisdom.

Accepting people means that we accept that we are all God's children. Believers are holding out hope to those who don't believe.

I believe in God, and I think religious people are mostly ignorant and believe they are helping those who do not believe... I don't go around thumping a Bible... I just serve my God by doing what is right and helping people... loving God and respecting God for his creation... But that's just me...
