Common sense, critical-thinking-skills, and a willingness to hold their own thoughts up to rational scrutiny, with a capacity to change what they 'think-is-true' based on demonstrable and testable fact/s.

BLIND FAITH is NONTHINKING. I will not say "I have faith that Jesus is the son of god." What proof is there? Faith is your "proof." I dont know what else to say except think long and hard about what you're learning and QUESTION EVERYTHING. Do you honestly think that the bible is truth, word for word? Why live in this black/white society with clearly defined good/evil? That causes extremism and even prejudice, as is shown by MANY christains. If you take a step back from everything and just glance at the world you can easily see things are not as clear cut as defined in the bible. Sadly, things change. Science will ADAPT, religion does NOT. If god was DISPROVEN that wouldnt change a christains "faith."
We are not blind. We simply understand that we are given brains to THINK about what is fed to us. Thats part of growing up and leaving your childhood behind. If religion is fed to you as a child, it becomes ingrained inside your head. You have very little chance to objectivly think about what you're being taught, as you have a socially bred fear of burning in hellfire.
Think, for a moment, that the bible may not contain utter truths. Then what?
"BUT IT DOES!" Is a answer im probably going to see. Im sorry if you truly feel that way.

The tricky thing about blind spots is that it's much easier to spot someone else's than your own. That's why they're blind spots.
I believe the bible records a saying about it: "Speck... plank..."
Lots of possible reasons why there is a divergence of opinon on the existence of a deity, and more specifically on the divinity of Jesus. Difference of culture and family upbringing, difference of personal experience, difference of key assumptions, difference in thought patterns.
But have you thought, that to spot your own blind spots, you need seriously to consider the opinions not of those who agree with you (who would share the same lapse, if there is one) but of those who disagree?
Thinking the same as those immediately around you is no great trick, and the phenomenon of "groupthink" can be difficult to break out of.
Dismissing the "others" as blind or stupid is far too easy a tactic. Comfortably reassuring and avoiding any pressure to consider that their world view might just have merit.

Everyone has a choice whether to believe or not. It is called free will and we all have it. Faith is believing in something you cannot see or cannot touch and that, I suppose, is the difference between Christians and unbelievers. That is the question that theists have been debating for centuries, isn't it?

I think it is the fact that we grow up and are told lies by our parents about the tooth fairy and santa clause and then the same people our parents after telling us these lies and completly messes with some people's heads and they become sceptics about just about everything and it doesnt help that there are so many religouns out there even Christianity has so many different Sub-religions how does anyone ever know who is right? and is everyone else wrong? What happens if you pick the wrong religion you only get to suffer torture for all eternity. That is my opinion it is just what I think.

Honestly I think it is basic human nature to rebel against God. It should not surprise you. Also some "bad Christians" with the message of condemnation and judgment and most of the time there is plenty of sin these people could work on removing in themselves. I'm guilty myself but for the grace of God I would continue to think of myself as superior because of my belief. Now I spend my time in judgment of myself and try to refrain from judging others but I do not always succeed as it is human nature to judge. I hope that God will perfect His love in me that I might show it more freely especially to the non believer. That is our great mission, right?

I am not a "Good Christian" but choose to answer the question anyway. Everyone is attracted to the belief system whereby they can learn the most for their particular place in time. Everyone is where they are supposed to be, you included. Why do you feel everyone must believe as you do? With all due respect, that is insulting to everyone on the planet who is not a Christian. Where is the love in that?

Atheists and unbelievers... that's like saying Christians and Christ followers...
BTW, you are the one blinded by the pink unicorn that lives in my hall closet that only I believe in. And if you don't get what I'm getting at, then you really are the blind one...

I personally guess that it is the devil turning people from God! I was just thinking a minute ago that it seems that when you get on the net, there are more people that want to prove to you that God is NOT real, and doesn't exist, and dont want to believe, than there are people that believe in God and are willing to stand up for Him!! God is good and God is Great! I just wished that I could help more of those that don't believe in Him and His Salvation!

Romans 1:17-25
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
