Why do people think that SPOKEN Chinese and Japanese sound the same????? THEY DO NOT!!!! Go on a website such as www.transparent.com (It's a language site), listen to a sentence in Japanese, then the same one in Chinese, and you'll see they don't sound the same! To me, Japanese is very melic, it just seems to roll of your tongue. It doesn't sound like Chinese. Japanese writing system was devrived from Chinese, but I'm talking about spoken language. Why do people think they sound the same?

It says in Leviticus not to eat any animal from the ocean that doesn't have scales. I'm a Christian vegetarian and love fish, shrimp, lobster, and crab. Is it wrong to eat them?

I'm thinking about killing myself because I think I'm going to hell and It's my fault. I began my faith journey at 17 and gave up sexual immorality (lust). However, I have resorted to doing it again after I have truly repented. Hebrews 10:26-27 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. I can't convert to another religion because I know Jesus is truth. What do I do?

Am I the only hispanic (Ecuadorian + El Salvadorian) who can't speak spanish fluently? Like every other hispanic person I meet knows more spanish then I do, or speak it perfectly. There are a few exceptions, but that is because they are not fully spanish so they speak english at home. So I just wanted to make sure I'm not the only hispanic who can't speak spanish as well.

I as a catholic believe both. but a lot of christians think you just have to have faith and you can go to heaven. they think all you need to do is accept jesus as lord savior, and your good to go. you can be a murderer even, and not repent but still accept jesus and be good.

i think we seek salvation by both. in the OT it was all works, and when a prophet came they were merely a prophet. i think jesus wasn't just merely a prophet, he was more, but i still think we have to be good people to go to heaven. if hitler was saved, he still doesn't deserve heaven (unless he repents, and if hell wasn't eternal and i were god i might let him in later on)

i'm a liberal and would love it to be by just faith but i just don't see how it can be.

so what do you think?

yesterday my father past away. He was a heart transplant recipent. The donors family stated they did not want us to know who they were but because my brother was doing his residency at the hospital we were able to find out. It has been almost 13 years and I would like to write the familya letter thanking them for 13 wonderful years we had w/ my dad. Do you think I should or do you think this would be to painful for the family as a part of their loved one has died(again) too. the donor was a 15 year old boy who commited suicied.

I know that the reformation was all about "justification by faith" and the Orthodox are on the grace side. But what does all of that mean? Do you have any opinions on which one is more theologically sound?

I for one use the KJV although it's hard for me to read it (I'm not good with ye, thou, and so forth.) i LOVE the recovery version NT because of the great footnotes and it's so easy to read. you can get one free here online like i did. no shipping cost either lol.

anyways and lastly i like the jerusalem Bible (I'm catholic.) i love 2 maccabees. it's a great and accurate Bible.

i refuse to use the NIV because it says in one verse that homosexuals won't seek the kingdom of heaven but that verse really doesn't say that in greek at all. so i refuse to read NIV. but hey, maybe that's just a small error and maybe it is good lol.

as a catholic i use my catholic bible a lot. but i do love my recovery version.. it's awesome.

so what about you?
