The idea of celebrating the birth of Jesus would strange to a man of that area of the world in that day. They didn't celebrate birthdays.. All I can tell you in the time of year. There were shepherds in the hills keeping watch over their flock by NIGHT.. It wasn't in the coldest part of the year. It was most likely spring May or June.. No matter enjoy the joy that remembering the Lord gives to our lives.. I'll take it any time I can... Jim

There is no definite date of Jesus' birth. He never mentioned it, neither did any of His disciples. He and all the writers of the Bible did not think it necessary. But there was a pagan custom in celebrating the birth of the Invincible Sun God, on the 25th of December, long before Jesus was born, and the Romans imported it into the Church and that is the reason why the Church is called Roman Catholic Church. It inherited many customs and traditions from the ancient pagan Roman religion and fooled most Christians into believing that it was commanded by Jesus or His disciples.

I have been told, and studied, that is was much more likely to have taken place in the springtime, than the winter time. This does not take away from celebrating it at christmas time. No matter when Jesus was born, we can still celebrate it on Christmas as we do not know for exact sure. (The info above, is based on other things , like the star ,other biblical descriptions, for the aproximations.) It does not take away from the knowledge we have about him, either. Use it to shed light, however you want, but it takes away nothing from the biblical account.

Lets try...just speculation.
Jesus started his ministry at the age of 30. He preached for 3 1/2 years and was crucified on Nisan 14, Jewush Passover which is today falls on the last days of March. So Jesus would have been 34 years old 6 months later...could be in the end of September or early October.
The account in the gospel said that the sheperds were out on a cold night with their sheep, if its December then it would have been snowing in that part of the globe and it isnt possible to tend to the sheep....but between September/October starts autumn...so it was cold on those days.

in case you recognize that Pliny miscalculated our present day calendar by skill of approximately 6 years (meaning the hot Millenium incredibly purely occured this previous a million/a million) and you seek for an astronomical anomoly that would desire to offer a "vivid famous person" as stated in the Biblical account of Christ's start...you're watching April 12, 6 BC.
