I think that faith doesn't contradict reason, but goes beyond reason by asking and answering philosophical questions that can't be answered by science, such as "why am I here?", "what is my purpose?" etc. I think both are important to human beings.
what do you think?

There are things in the world that although they cant be seen or percieved in any kind of way;there are things that exist despite the inability to percieve or be able to test them?God being one of those things. If you answer yes to this question, then why is it so hard to believe in God(Jesus Christ)?

My husband and I have conflicting views on the issue. I was never taught to believe in Santa and as a result grew up thinking it was a silly. (Guess you could say I was that girl on Miracle on 34th Street) Anyway..my husband did grow up thinking he was real and now we are having trouble deciding whether to teach our son to believe in him or not. I don't want to. I don't want to teach him something and have him find out it's not true and hurt his feelings. I don't know.. what do you all think? I just think it's wrong to lie to your kids..about anything. I guess I'd feel differently if I'd grown up believing in Santa, the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny. Maybe you guess can help me see a different side of the whole thing?

Do we tip these people. I remember when the daily paper used to be delivered by a kid on a bike and it was perfectly decent to give him a little money at Christmas. But now the paper is delivered by an adult with a car. Does he get a tip? How about the mail person? I used to live in a very metropolitan area and tipping the mailmail was custom but do you do it in a rural area too? Tipping the mailguy in NYC assured you that your packages would arrive in one piece all year long. But in Maine where the package can safely be left on your front step - is tipping still called for.

I've got the striped shirts and tight skinny jeans.

I listen to that horrorble music and I hate it but I listen because its "the scene".

I've got my Video Camera for YouTube and my Camera for Myspace, so I can take lots of pictures and movies of myself.

If you wrote " I have "faith" that 2+2=5 " on your homework, you'd get an F.
Saying " I have faith that my green sofa is the portal for my other life" would get you committed for life.
So why is "faith" used as an acceptable reason for the existence of religion?

As a Christian in an every changing world. I some times wonder if we are doing things all wrong. I mean, Christ more then likely was not born any where near December 25th. More people believe or have believed in Santa Claus (materialistic/commericalism) at some point in their live then in Jesus (spiritual). So what are your reasons to celebrate Christmas? The birth of a savior or making sure you're on Santa's good list.
