Islam? I mean no offense by the term minority. It's just that America is predominantly Christian. I just find it odd that they try to take God out of the pledge and Jesus out of Christmas, but will do seemingly anything to protect muslims practicing their religion.

So I dated a guy over the summer and he broke up with my because he said he "wasn't ready for a relationship." Now, he is dating somebody else. It's about 4 months later. Do you think he was BSing me (like covering up the real reason he was dumping me)? Do you think I'm just being bitter and jealous, or do I have a right to feel a touch angry?

I thought that maybe he would ask me out again if he thought he was ready for a relationship. Why would he suddenly be ready now with somebody else? Why is this person different from me? I think this is part of the explanation why I feel so hurt by this decision.

Please, discuss.

I am really not even sure I'm sure what the "se" refers to in some cases. I thought that it was basically another way to say "someone", but in sentences with objects( that have the personal "a") I am really confused. Thanks for your help.

Strictly speaking - its not Christs' birthday - the church just made up the date to try to get people into church, instead of celebrating winter solstice. There was a monk in a brown hooded robe who anonymously threw coins down the chimney's of poor people in the winter. Christmas has become a decadent and materialistic practice that so many cannot do. Why should anyone be treated badly because they cant or dont do it??

Although whites just love to claim that the slave trade was purely the result of AFricans selling other AFricans - that's not quite true. Of the Africans who did sell other Africans into slavery, it is not as though they held the white slave traders at gunpoint and FORCED them to take the slaves. It was also not the Africans who humiliated, tortured and treated the Black Slaves as though they were subhuman.

But...why on earth did the whites hate blacks so much?? Whites really have some nerve to have this weird contempt for American blacks. They fail to recognize that the reason so many blacks are here, is because whites brought them here. And the reason a disproportionate number of blacks are poor, on welfare, criminally active is a direct response to slavery and the racial injustices that take place right up to this day.

I am not a black American or so-called "African American." I am black but I am not in America as a result of the slave trade. I admire American blacks.

of the the people who give religious but not overly religious people like me such a bad rap? For instance the Rabbi who simply asked that his holiday be recognized? How would we feel if there were menorahs but no Christmas trees? Or the constant gay bashing,Bible quotes & lectures to the athiests? I think 90% of Christians are like me but it's that 10% that make the rest of us look so bad when alot of us think that being gay is not nor ever will be a sin & Jews have the right to have menorahs up where there are Christmas trees?
