I recently listened to an article on www.bbc.co.uk in the Islam section about Polygamy. It was by a muslim woman and it was really interesting.

I was just curious if you knew anybody in this kind of relationship.
What's it like for them? Do you think that some men take advantage of it and mistreat their wives? Or is it really a chivalrous thing?
What's the punishment for men who don't treat this marriages justly?

Speaking to thousands of students at the University of Tehran on Friday, Haniyeh said: "The braggart of the world [the United States] and the Zionists ... want us to accept the theft of Palestinian lands, stop the jihad and the resistance and accept the agreements signed with the Zionist enemy. We will never recognize the Zionist government. We will continue the jihad until Jerusalem is liberated."

i thought of this question because of a question that was posted with the subject being, "was the act of jesus giving his life for others was sacrifice or suicide?" one of the answers was, " it was as it stands. god does not view death in the same way that we do."
how do you know he views death or anything differently from us? did he tell you this? what's the point then to make rules if he views things differenly? wouldn't it confuse us and how would we know if the things we do are really good or bad?

Sorry to ask for sympathy.. But in a few hours I'm gonna put my cat "to sleep". She is dying of lung cancer.. It's a real hard time for me and my family.. And "I DON'T WANT TO BE THE ONE" that says it time. So.. I'm all in tears.. I know it's best for her.. And I recognize it's time to end her suffering. Will you pray to get our family through it?.. And ask Gods forgiveness for us ending her life?..
Thank you all...

The hard part of it all is her name is Cuddles, And she truly lived up to her name... :`````-((((

Agree or disagree?
Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?
Haven't you read, he replied, that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female',
and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?
So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.
Why then, they asked, did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?
Jesus replied, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. (Matthew 19)

My friend keeps saying how she wishes she was married. She mentions this every time I ring her and recently said "I want to have sex". As christians, we know this is only for after marriage. She says that if she knew what she could do to get God moving in that area, she'd do it. How can I reassure her? I'm also of the same age and also alone without a husband, but somehow I have things to occupy my loneliness.

...has a mind of her own and is a 'strong' woman?

If you'd go for the second one, then why do you think so many men seemed to want the first in a woman in the past?
And why would anyone feel ok about marrying a woman who probably didn't love them (since the women didn't have any say in it really)?

Just trying to understand how the past came about at all...

Jesus is saying one man for one woman. Do you agree with this idea. Why or why not?
