i thought of this question because of a question that was posted with the subject being, "was the act of jesus giving his life for others was sacrifice or suicide?" one of the answers was, " it was as it stands. god does not view death in the same way that we do."
how do you know he views death or anything differently from us? did he tell you this? what's the point then to make rules if he views things differenly? wouldn't it confuse us and how would we know if the things we do are really good or bad?

People are sure because they're simple-minded; There is of course no way to prove the existence of a god, let alone any of his/her characteristics.

If you read the bible you will notice an overall theme. God loves His creation. The bible also tells us that He has a place called heaven that is prepared for us after this life. That indicates God as being good and caring. This should also explain why God may view death differently than we do. He knows whats next. For instance, what is it about death that you dislike? What fears do you have about death? As Christians, we believe that Gods word and His actions in both the OT and NT reveal to us an overall personality and attitude of God. It appears to be that He is a loving God. As far as rules,,,well lets not call them rules, lets say that He layed down some ways that we could live and each one of us would benefit greatly if we abided by them. Imagine if tomorrow morning when you woke up, just for one day in the world, everyone loved each other. What would the headlines read then?

Well Gods rules are the ones i follow the ones which he revealed in the Quran. This is his view so I'm not doing things differently i am worshiping him how he wants to be worshiped. He tells us what he is, what he wants and Muslims follow accordingly. People all view everything differently, how you view death is not necessarily how i view death etc. No people views are the same. I follow Gods rules simple as that.

God by definition is not a person, and in practical terms is unknowable. (Face it folks, he/she/it's not going to stroll into your kitchen and ask what's for dinner.)

People who tell you otherwise are generally trying to establish themselves and their beliefs as superior to others.

George Santayana said it very well in his introduction to "Interpretations of Poetry and Religion", which I am unfortunately going to have to paraphrase VERY badly from memory: "Organized religions would do well to drop the pretense that they are dealing with matters of fact... and to remember that their true function is the expression of an ideal... it is the source of conflict between all the sects...". Not expressed quite so beautifully as Santayana wrote it, but definitely the gist of what he said. It's one of my favorite quotations, but I'm not rooting through 2000 books packed in boxes to quote him exactly at 2:30am. Insomnia sucks, but not that badly.

very good question... the problem with any religion is that it has a core of tenets which have been defined and set once and for all by a bunch of idiots as smart as anybody on Yahoo QandR.. the best thing to do with God is to put Him on your heart and listen only to your good heart, not to your bad heart because somehow religions have a point : we can do good or evil and we should try to do good for the sake of God...

God doesn't make any rules, it is only people who make up rules!

People speak to God all the time, and he answers us all the time, but most of us don't listen, or the answer he gives us takes a form that we aren't expecting so we don't recognize it for the answer it is.

One of the millions of reasons why I'm basically an agnostic. I can't just take the word of other people when they say that God spoke to them no matter how long ago it supposedly happened.

The Bible tells of God and one only has to look at the earth and it's creatures and astral beings to know what God is like. Animals delight him and he wants a personal relationship with each human being on the planet. A lot of people talk smack, but they won't be talking smack when they hear the Lord say, "I never knew ye."
