Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?
Haven't you read, he replied, that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female',
and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?
So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.
Why then, they asked, did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?
Jesus replied, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. (Matthew 19)

Jesus is saying one man for one woman. Do you agree with this idea. Why or why not?

I'm kinda of iffy about divorce too. Sometimes I think it is a necessary evil, but I also think that some people get divorced for stupid reasons.

Abuse--good reason for a divorce.
I don't love you anymore--bad reason for a divorce.

(my opinion)

Yes I agree. Jesus is saying that when we choose to marry the opposite sex, we should focus our energy on maintaining the marriage regardless of what problems occur. We are made stronger in our faith through trials that we encounter both married and single. Today, divorce is so common and so easy to get and we sometimes fail to see the pain that it causes, especially to children. Sadly, maintaining faith in a troubled relationship does not mean it will always turn out to be a happy ending.

I do not agree with divorce. I think marriage is to be taken very seriously, I do think there are certain circumstances but irreconcilable differences is not one of them. Too many people jump into marriage without thinking it through and then use divorce as an easy way out. I think all couples with problems should seek counseling and work through whatever their problem may be. I also think that there should be mandatory counseling before a couple is married so both parties make sure they know what they are getting into.

Do we have that True Gospel which Jesus Christ (pbuh) Preached in Hebrew or Aramaic?
Did Jesus (pbuh) asked Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to write these Gospels?
How can Christians rely on the accounts in these Gospels which are the basic Pillars of their Faith?

Grounds For Polygamy*

[4:3] If you deem it best for the orphans, you may marry their mothers - you may marry two, three, or four. If you fear lest you become unfair, then you shall be content with only one, or with what you already have. Additionally, you are thus more likely to avoid financial hardship.

[4:4] You shall give the women their due dowries, equitably. If they willingly forfeit anything, then you may accept it; it is rightfully yours.

Interesting concept. Wouldn't that mean that remarriage after a divorce is a violation of God's laws?

It makes one wonder why Christians don't throw as big a fit about that as they do about the prospect of same sex civil unions.

Get beat up a while or have your husband cheat on you continually and then come back and tell us if you're iffy about divorce.
