Just curious... how many people here were protestant and converted to the Catholic Church? What converted you?

I am a convert myself; the Blessed Sacrament of our dear Lord, the Holy Eucharist, is what converted me.

Sometimes, people ask me what do I think about some matters or so, but at the end , they do not listen to me,
Ather time, I start conversation, and ending up that people keep talking without me, like I m not here anymore and no one asking for My opinion.

A very religious man lived right next door to an atheist. While the religious one prayed day in, day out, and was constantly on his knees in communion with his Lord, the atheist never even looked twice at a church.

However, the atheist's life was good, he had a well-paying job and a beautiful wife, and his children were healthy and good- natured, whereas the pious man's job was strenuous and his wages were low, his wife was getting fatter every day and his kids wouldn't give him the time of the day.

So one day, deep in prayer as usual, he raised his eyes towards heaven and asked:

"Oh God, I honour you every day, I ask your advice for every problem and confess to you my every sin. Yet my neighbour, who doesn't even believe in you and certainly never prays, seems blessed with every happiness, while I go poor and suffer many an indignity. Why is this?"

And a great voice was heard from above:

"BECAUSE HE DOESN'T BOTHER ME ALL THE TIME!"

i need help-i have less than 100 bucks to spend on these ppl:

1)My mom who loves handmade and unique things(she gets 3 gifts cause of her birthday)
2)A picky 9-yr old sister(something huge and affordable)
3)A outgoing and energetic grandma that likes to collect everything especially dolls)
4)My 2 friends that i work at the library with(ones a rocker boy and the others a christian girl)
5)The elders at the library(something simple,something that they can put on their desk maybe)

I've done lots of research into paganism being in christianity. Most of my research its from books between 200 and 500 years old or books referenceing them. I've read a lot about an ancient book called, "The Mysteries" or The Babylonian Mysteries". This was the so called bible or top book for ancient pagans before christs time and only the pagan priests had access to it. Eventually the ancient pagans become what is known today as Catholics. I'm trying to find this book, if its ever been found and translated. It would be amazing seeing what they believed and did and comparing it with whats done today. If anybody knows where to find any info on it let me know.

my basset hound got out of the fence monday and i didnt see it but i heard the loud crash .and my dog yelp a few times.the driver never stoped my poor baby is dead.my family dont understand they didnt hear the crash or hear her yelping.i cant get it out of my head and i dont have any body to talk too.and i dont want another dog i have 3 other dogs.please help me i just cant get in the mood for christmas.

if I have 2 nokia tracefones, one of which is active and has 479 minutes on it and another which is deactivated and has no minutes on it, is there a way I could activate the deactivated one and transfer some of the minutes from the active one to it? And if so how? Reason i am asking is because I am in college and my father just started staying with his mother this year since my mother moved to troy, NY, causing us to lose the house we had been living in...and I also have to stay with my father's mother when I am not on campus...but my father like always calls me from there a lot and we usually talk for awhile, and guess it uses my grandma's phone bill when he calls me, so she gets mad when he uses the phone, and so he wanted to know if I could give him this other tracefone, but it is deactivated and has no minutes. So I was just wondering if there is a way I could transfer minutes to it.

She was shot by her boyfriend( he is still in jail awaiting trial it has been continued 6 times) at 12:37am and died around 1:07 am she is now an angel looking out for those of us left behind who miss her it is hard to believe taht 1 year ago all was good in our world went to sleep to awaken 6 hours later with our world shattered God Bless you all and may you have peace and joy in your heart to day and always

The First Ammendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". Since the ban on gay marriage in no way respects the establishment of religion *or prohibits it* this is NOT a "seperation of church and state" issue, even if such a thing existed.
People just need to get a grip and realize that gays are not prohibtted from doing anything we heterosexuals do. A gay person may legally marry a person of the opposite sex. Granting them special rights makes them a special class, which would violate the 14th Amendment. It states that "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States". It must follow then that all rights of all citizens are the same and we are therefore equal under the law.
I therefore submit to you that to make gay marriage legal in the United States would be a violation of MY consitutuional rights, since I am not gay.
