I have always found this time of year depressing. A lot of it stems from the crass commercialization, a quiet introspective holiday is my wish. I found out some years ago though that light deprivation has a lot to do with it. A full spectrum light placed so that some enters the eye can help a lot.

I live in the city and I am a very attractive young white gay guy who cannot find others like me in this city! Is there a secret society that I need to tap into? All I get is those out of town midwestern hot boys holding their girlfriends hands downtown giving me the lustful look, but I can't just go up to them with their babes attached to them, even though it would make my life if it ever happened.

Alot of atheist claim to have grown up in a religious home and as such rebelled and are now atheists.

But alot of people, including myself, grew up in an atheist home and have found Christ.

they started placing more attention on their idenity as a person instead of defining themselves in terms of their sexuality? It seems to me this is the problem that many straight people have with homosexuals; it's not so much the homosexuality itself that offends them, but the insistance by homosexuals that they define themselves by their sexuality.

If this is out of line, I'm sorry. It certainly isn't meant to be.

here is the info that i remember.it starts with 2 or 3 scientists working in like a lab.they have somehow discovered a"window" thats looks into another world.this world apears to be just like ours.thru this window they are able to watch undetected a family in the country.the family consists of a father,mother,and two children.the family goes about doing what familys do nothing odd.the scientists watch this for awhile then one of them decides to try and go thru the window to visit these people.can't remember if just one or two go thru but i know one stayed behind as he felt it was a bad idea.well they go thru and start walking towards the farm house when one of the children looked out the door and saw them.the child smiled and showed his very large teeth and ran out the house and attacked the scientists and ate them alive.the other family members saw this and joined in the feast.all i know is this was part of a short story collection.

Ok, I've read the other questions similar to this and everyone got flamed as a racist, but here it is anyway.

Notice that I used "black american culture" NOT blacks, and "white american culture" and NOT whites. Race is NOT an issue here. I know plenty of white people (especially kids) who are into black culture, and I know black people who are into white culture.

You cannot argue that adherers to black culture are not louder in general than the majority of the public, and can usually be heard above the common talk in a public place. Why is this?

Again, I stress, the issue here is with CULTURE, and not RACE. There is a distinct difference, and if anyone flames me as a racist because of this you are just showing your own ignorance.

Are we permenantly marred with the crimes of our ancestors? What if they did something great, are we then better ourselves? Should caucasians be held guilty for slavery and Jim Crow? Are Americans and Australians guilty for the subjugation of the indiginous peoples? Are the French permenantly indebted to Americans or the Germans indebted to the Jews? If so when does it stop, after all you don't hear the Greeks complaining about the Roman conquest.

seriously, im sick of people trying to copy it, its so degrading. why do people think that we all work at 7 ELEVEN and dance in circles wen the moon is out. HELLO PEOPLE get with the program. people always think indians should get the bad jobs like a taxi driver. actually, some of the worlds richest and influential people are believe it or not indian. why? because were smart and did calculus in the 8th grade. im not saying that everyone hates on indians, but recently ive felt a lot of discrimination. i just want to know why people are so narrow-minded in their beliefs
