seriously, im sick of people trying to copy it, its so degrading. why do people think that we all work at 7 ELEVEN and dance in circles wen the moon is out. HELLO PEOPLE get with the program. people always think indians should get the bad jobs like a taxi driver. actually, some of the worlds richest and influential people are believe it or not indian. why? because were smart and did calculus in the 8th grade. im not saying that everyone hates on indians, but recently ive felt a lot of discrimination. i just want to know why people are so narrow-minded in their beliefs

Everybody gets picked on at some point in time - if the only thing you got picked on for was being Indian, then you know that you're doing all right- because these types of people dig for things to pick with and all they could find was nationality - sounds like you're doing all right to me - Next time just giggle at their ignorance and walk away

People from India are great people. They have an accent that is so widely used by characters in movies, that real people who are trying to be funny try to imitate the Indian accent. I understand the insult. Maybe there's a little relief from the insult in the idea that imitation is the best form of flattery.

I guess because it is seen as harmless humor. I must say I've been guilty of this too. Keep in mind that most people have at one time or another imitated or stereotyped another race/group for humor. Typically such "dirty" jokes are kept between select groups of friends. Of course it's probably more acceptable to make fun of Indians because in general there is less real "history" behind such stereotypes than, lets say, blacks or jews. Honestly until your post I've never thought anything of it, just harmless fun you know, but thinking of it, I couldn't imagine anyone making such jokes about black people or jewish people without being called a racist or anti-semite. But to answer your question, it is percieved as comical.

it is called social conformity, the speedier than can seem extra Americanized the further easily they are going to be regularly occurring. Now, if purely particular different communities might want to draw close that then they could finally stop their crying about how repressed they're.
