In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

First of all real trekkies never argue about engine sizes, they know that the engine size on the starship enterprise is 7500 cubic feet long and is built out of half an oldsmobile six cylinder. But back to your main question, yes people who sin are temporarily possessed by satan but in varying degrees and lengths of time. Some people are possessed throughout their entire lives in exteme cases. Thats why I've come up with a possesso meter that can tell just how possessed you are. It goes on a scale of one to ten, one being jew, five being poor, and finally ten, being gay or muslim. In between lies the other varying mischievious activities such as, robbing liquor stores and eating babies. You can purchase my pantented possesso meter online at www.possessometeronline.com.

The Bible says "Little children sin not, but if you sin, you have an advocate with the Father in Heaven". Whenever we sin we can go to God and ask for forgiveness. No temporary possession of the devil.

A Christian can not be possessed by the devil. If a Christians sins it is his/her own decision to do wrong. Evils force can influence people of faith but not possess because the Spirit of God lives in our hearts. Evil can not live with God.

Trekkies= good.
back to the subject, no I don't feel that satan makes people sin, it's just a lame excuse people use to explain their poor behavior.

No, the devil didn't make me do it! lol. It's the flesh (meaning the "me" that does that.
But the devil does influence Christians. He whispers temptations in our ear, he can even oppress us spiritually. But he cannot win. He is already defeated.
But the sillliest thing a Christian can do is blame his sins on the devil Jesus said these things came out of the himan heart (referring ot sinful behaviour).

Adam and Eve were not possessed when they sinned for the first time. They just listened to the devil and disobeyed God.

You are possed by no one. These "sins" are just morals that we have come to abide by. Some have become law. Its exactly like this. The bible is one big story....these sins are the moral of the story.....get it? Think outside the box for once.

When you go to work are you temporarily possessed by Donald Trump? Don't confuse acts with those who benefit from them.
