I am a white girl and I don't think i'm better than any race, but I like being white. I am not by any means a racist but I am getting tired of the reverse-descrimination going on in today's society. In general, it is acceptable to make fun of white people in the media which i can appreciate if it is funny, but the minute someone mentions "the n word" the joke is over and there is suddenly a major controversy. Maybe my ancestors have done horrible things but i have never enslaved anyone or stolen anyone's land. Moreover, blacks are enslaving blacks in some parts of Africa even today. my sister just left for college and her black friend with worse grades and fewer extra-curriculars got into a better school that they both applied for. He was obviously never a slave. She could have gotten in for free if she were native-american. I know the colleges are trying to have a fair number of minorities, but when did equality become synonymous with undeniable racism? Can anyone explain this to me?

There are several sentences that I've translated but I'm not sure they're right. Am I doing them correctly?
1. Are you going to buy anthing for your mom?
Vas a comprar algo para tu madre?
2. I'm going to buy her a blouse.
Voy a comprarle una blusa.
3. I like these green pants more than the black ones.
Me gustan estos pantalones mas que los ******.
4. These daring short dresses
Estos vestidos bajos y atrevidos

Also, when there is more than one adjective in a sentence without a conjunction, how do I translate it?
Ex: That striped ugly bathing suit

In my opinion NO IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR BELIEFS LOOK ANY COOLER!

I have re-evaluated all my inquiries. Though my questions come out of curiosity for other people's religions, I must admit that I might come accross as biased toward Christians (I used to be a Christian), thus some people might think I am attacking Christianity (see the last 5 questions I posted). In the spirit of Tolerance, I intend not to POST any questions that could insult others. Hope everyone trys to do the same!

I have heard this one alot,"Every christian is called to preach/win souls".
Do you agree with this?
I do not,as I feel that The Higher Being(Or God,what ever title you would like to give)has called me to pray for others instead of preach(which is fine for some,but not for me)
What is your view on this?

I always have trouble when I go across the pond. I love America, and it is a beautiful place to visit, but their accents can drive me batty. I feel bad, because I have to keep asking them to repeat themselves. Sometimes I'll hear a group of them having a conversation, and I'll just laugh to myself, because I don't see how they can possibly understand what the other is saying. Anyone else have this trouble? If so, what do you try to do about it, I mean I don;t want to be rude, and flat out say " I don't understand a damn word your saying"
