beacause it is good to start the year off nicely and wish everyone the best. if we are rude to people in drinking establishments it is usually beacause we are drunk and annoyed and full of bravado, although, personally speaking, i wouldn't usually wish harm or an unhappy year upon the person. i am not usually rude to people when i am out anyway. i think girls generally are more nice to each other. it is only pervs or extrally crude men i would be rude to. or unnessscerilly lairy bouncers. i wouldn't wish them an entirely bad year or life though. a lot fo the blokes i hang out with start on other blokes really quickly though that is just bravado, pride and hunger for a fight though not beasue they are evil and hate people. although fighting over silly small things is stupid. but they are not evil and want people to have a bad year, i wouldn't say. not unless they had a massive grudge against the person. this is quite long winded, sorry.

I'm usually in my local at New Year so know everyone there. Wish them a Happy New Year as they are friends and definitely don't spend the rest of the year saying up yours to them!!

No, I think that you're just 'happy pi*s*d' when it's new year and not necessarilly so for the rest of the year. Or maybe it's just you and you're an evil little s*** who hates everyone and says up yours to them all the time. Who knows?

I only say that to people I genuinely wish to have a happy new year. To the other ones I say unhappy newyear. Ususally they are so drunk, they don't hear what I am saying.

If everyone says "up yours buddy" to you, you can't be very popular.
