I work with a woman with very nasty opinions about Asians and Native Americans. When she mentioned them, I corrected her and let her know that her comments were offensive (and believe me, they were).
She's on probation for other reasons and in an attempt to save her job, she told mgmt that I'm planning to file suit against the company for racial discrimination. This pisses me off, because she wouldn't have made this claim if I were Caucasian. Since this isn't true, I want someone to let her know that this is completely unacceptable, but, instead I was told to sit tight and be patient, because she's going to lose her job soon anyway.
I can't get over being pissed off. Am I wrong to expect management to take this woman to task? They're aware of her opinions, but everyone squirms whenever the word "bigotry" is mentioned
