Your absolutely correct, we to make disciples, not just get someone saved;
Matt 28
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Acts 1
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
The Great Commission is the end of a Gospel and the beginning of faith in action for all Christians. This command from Jesus is significant because it's a personal instruction for Christians to have a profound faith in Jesus Christ as indicated in verse 18. "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." This is an incredibly powerful statement which demands faith in Jesus Christ, validating His power in the lives of Christians and their commitment to Him. This verse acts as a clear claim to Christ's omnipotence, and therefore His deity. If Christians do not believe this statement, complete faith does not exist. Jesus is very clear about His authority in the world -- it is complete and total from the beginning of time itself (John 1:1-3).
In verse 19, Jesus gives His believers specific directions to follow after they have affirmed their faith. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Jesus calls all His followers to act and share the Good News of salvation throughout the world. People hear this calling and travel each year on missionary trips throughout the earth, spreading the word of Jesus Christ. Many Christians have made incredible sacrifices, traveling to remote regions of the world beyond the civilized cities into jungles and deserts. Mission fields can also be very close to home. It could be a neighbor who has not heard the Good News, or a poverty stricken area just down the road where people can't afford Bibles. In the 21st century, the Internet has become a mission field where people can reach out and share Christ's love. The places and people who need to hear the Gospel are everywhere!
Another important aspect of verse 19 is that Christ is specifically teaching the doctrine of the Trinity to His followers. The three Persons of the Godhead are each equally and fully God and here presented in the logical order of Father, Son and Holy Spirit - yet only One God from the beginning (see Romans 1:20).
Finally, in verse 20, Jesus provides specific direction with affirmation to His followers, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Christians are instructed to teach others about Jesus Christ and the entirety of His truth. We can't profess Christ as Savior and Lord, while rejecting certain of His teachings. As we teach Christ's truths, verse 20 declares that we can be confident, in faith, that Jesus Christ will support us. This fact has proven trustworthy throughout the centuries as millions of believers have heard, accepted and shared the Good News of Jesus Christ. Yes, Christ has ascended back to heaven, but He is present by the power of the Holy Spirit in every believer!

You are exactly right.Too many times Christian's miss the chance to minister to the lost.I'm guilty of it.There are a lot of people out there that don't understand how to bring the gospel to the lost. Some are scared of being mocked and ridiculed.Believe it or nor not,our society of today breeds some pretty mean people. As far as tolerance,Jesus also tells us "Christians,be angry and sin not".Some folks just don't have the ability to bring the gospel. What I see now,is Christians are blending in with the lost, and getting lost in the crowd.Their not being the salt of the earth as Jesus instructed.Their putting on a mask for church, and living carnal lifestyles at home.
Look up and notice what Jesus says about hypocrisy.

I am not against any faith because I am not taught to be...I happen to be LDS (also referred to as Mormon)...in our Church we have faith that every young man (it is not a commandment, but it is seen as EXTREMELY important) should (doesn't have to) go on a mission and preach the gospel...however don't hold all Mormons accountable off of what I say...I am only 18 but I'm on my school seminary council and I plan to serve a mission in about 11 months...Live the example, everybody sins, but living and following the Savior's example is also a way to "preach" the gospel by action though it is good to talk and explain. Well good question. Cya!

the main powerful thank you to transform others on your faith is stop thinking which you have the skill to accomplish that. Prayer isn't something extra effective than a communique between me and God. Preaching isn't something extra effective than a man or woman conversing the Gospel message. ethical habit is merely an outward sign of the middle. Feeding the poor, clothing the bare, taking good care of the widow and the fatherless are issues we do because of the fact God instructed us to to coach them that we attempt to love as Jesus enjoyed. each and every thing we do could be an expression to others of what God provides us. the main 'powerful action' I even have ever taken to 'convert others' exchange into to hunt for Him first in all issues. Being affected person, variety, forgiving and non violent did no longer carry me nearer to God. searching for Him MADE ME affected person, variety, forgiving and non violent. And in being those issues, others have been attracted to ME to inquire from me, how am i able to have what you have? common. Meet Jesus. i'm going to wreck your emotions, permit you down and disappoint you in a myriad of techniques, yet He won't. and then THEY MAKE the alternative. whilst did you ever have the 'skill' to try this for somebody? i desire I replied your question. I even have been long discouraged by the way the well-known church teaches people who they are to blame for 'gettin' obtainable and SAVIN' human beings!!!

I think preaching is done better by your lifestyle. People read you life not your words. It's so sad to see these pastors who commit fornication and adultery. What are they saying to others? It's about a lifestyle of holiness. People will know you by your fruit.
My husband has never "preached" to anyone on the construction jobs he works at but the people seem to know he's a Christian. When people say a curse word in his presence, they immediately apologize. So it's about a lifestyle. Then God will open a door and you can speak to people if their heart is open.

LOL, maybe you should start preaching to the trees or the deer, they are a part of creation too, don't discriminate!! Those that are NOT Christians may have MADE that decision, you would likely not appreciate me trying to convince you your choice to be Christian is wrong.

The same guy also said "Avoid the yeast of the Pharisees" which is hypocrisy. i.e. yeah, preach it brother, but make sure you're living it first.
Now, there are 27000 children gonna starve to death today. How much you got? How much do you think you can sell your clothes and the rest of your stuff for? Better get moving, preacher.
Don't take your Lord's name in vain. It'll be much worse for you.

NO. Jesus told them to go and speak. But he also told them what to do if they were not wanted -- shake the dust from your sandals ring a bell?
I don't have a problem with Christians who come up to me and say, "Hey, I'd like to talk about Christ," if they don't make a fuss when I say, "I'm an atheist, but thank you for caring." At that point, according to Jesus's own words, they are to turn around and walk away.
So far, every Christian who has ever approached me uninvited to talk about Christ has continued to press the issue despite my gentle statement of disinterest. In fact, I had one so-called 'christian' guy pull out a gun and shove it in my face and ask if I believed in God now... HARDLY what Jesus commanded in the Great Commissioning.

That's exactly right. It cannot be done. It's an oxymoron. It's not our job to make them believe but it is our job to tell them. Good question, you should get 2 points. So should Kenny P.
