Are Mormons forbidden from answering simple questions about their worship?

2006-11-15 06:56:39 · 14 answers · asked by Mav here! 4 in Religion & Spirituality

I've seen a few people already post questions or remarks asking why non-Christians are allowed to post here in Yahoo Answers. So far my answers have been simple. "Because this is a forum open to the public, which means it is open to anyone from any religious path." Personally I like being able to see some of the discussions that go on between the non-Christians and the Christians. True we get a lot of bickering and fighting and childish comments thrown in once in a while. But the true beauty of life is being able to be free to be different from once another, and have those differences in opinion. Anyways, what I should get to before I run out of typing space here is... Do you feel Yahoo Answers should support only one religion? Do you feel that maybe Wiccans and Atheist and Druids have no right to be posting on here? Or Do you feel that this should be a forum open to anyone, like it currently is? That anyone from any faith background should be allowed on and able to share ideas?

im 16 and for the past year ive been trying to figure out if im bi. i havent had relationships with either sex. last year my les friend told me she used to like me the year before that. she has a gf now for a year..i think she told me when she already had a gf probly to clear her conscience or somethn..but anway i havent figured out if i like her. when i see her it seems like i act diferent, almost kind of to make her like me but i dont do it on purpose... i think about how it would be like to be with a girl and kind of want to. but i know i want to be with a guy in the future for a life thing. like marry a guy. not a woman.
another thing is one of my friends and i jokingly hold hands for a few seconds. but its all a joke. she has a bf. but sometimes when she comes from behind me and not knowing, she holds my hand, i get a tingling nervous feeling on the bottom of my stomach, below the belly button.
anyone have any idea what this means?
do you think im bi?
or just bi curious.
=/

Is it a sin? I know that many Mormons dont practice it, and it's illegal, but after watching this show, it made me think wow. You know the life they chose is really hard. Is it about sacrifice?

Mine personally?
There was a former Missionary at our church who told me a story about how he was in a small African village. One day he was praying by his bed. He prayed to God that he would force the demon that was keeping the villiagers from excepting Christ to leave. He said that then he turned to his left and seen a small hunched over grey looking creature (the nearest thing I can tell you is think Gollum, but eviler) who looked up at him and said "You cant force me to leave" then jumped out the window.
Now this man was an old missionary, and I highly doubt he would lie. It wasnt just me he was telling this story, but a large group of people, so why would he lie?
I dunno, he might, but demons are one of the only supernatural forces I personally believe in, thats why the damn story scared me so much.
So the real question is, whats the scariest thing you've ever heard? BTW I'm not talkin about that one time you watched The Excorsist or Child's Play alone at midnight.

I have had this happen to me quite a bit lately, first encounter of this problem was my fiancee's father in law. I was with my fiancee visiting her grandpa at the hospital to see how his quadruple bypass surgery went ok. When all of a sudden I am pinned to the wall by her father in law and he is grilling me with questions about God and what religion am I. This really gets under my skin that it tends to be a social pet peeve. So I ask why do some people think it is their godsent duty to try to brow beat people into their beliefs?

Any feedback is appreciated

She's a fake. She's shown time and time again on the Montell show that she doesn't have any clue what she's talking about. She just told this woman whose daughter was murdered that the killer left a matchbook behind. The mother says she never found one. And then she told this other woman that her mother's name was Margaret, then tried to play it off. Why do people buy into this crap?

I have several however I have the top two I am sharing for now.
Years ago I was opening gifts and I didn't read the name tags closely. I opened up a gift that had a glass car model in it. I am on camera with this thing and my mom says you opened the wrong Gift give me that. I was embarrsed because it was for my brother in law.
Another time my dad was opening Gifts from his mail route. All the sudden the phone rang and he went up to answer it. He came back to the chair few mins later. He relised his 100.00 bucks was missing. So he looked on the film on the camera. He said oh It's in the garbage. He tells this story all the time each Christmas.

What is wrong with this nutjob? He has finished writing a book in which he said, "If I did it, this is how I did it." And this book goes on to tell how he would have killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, "had he done it." No good can come from this. This seems to me to be a confession, so now he'll have everyone on his back again for either getting away with murder, or trying to make money off of it. If he did not do it and he is writing this book, then he is inviting problems for no reason. This is straight up stupidity and I think he should be sent to jail for that alone, whether or not he did it.

When I first looked at this situation years ago, I didn't think there was enough evidence and so I didn't think he had done it. I now believe I was mistaken in that conclusion.

Basically what am asking is that, is there more white people than black or as the chinese taking over by breeding too much children. Am Nigerian and i know that we are the most populated black country in the world if then, is the black race the most populated and if so why so much racism. Or does the Hispanic totally over shadow, i just dont know.
What about Asian are they the most populated race. Who will eventually take over the world and who will slowly die out.

Has the question got your attention? Good.

I'm sure we all know about these conspiracy theories surrounding the Jews, how they're plotting for the world to blow itself to piss and whatnot, but what i'm wondering is this:

"Why do people think the Jews are controlling the world?"

I myself respect the rights of Israel to exist and whatnot, and i'm sympathetic to their history after the Holocaust. What's the thing against them? Why Jews?

I've found this on a conspiracy website - "Judaism legislates haughtiness, supremacism and callous disregard for other human beings"

Can someone find me hard proof of that? Preferably a quote(s) from Jewish religious texts.

Is all this claim about the Jews being money hungry and after world rule just because of The Protocols of the Eldars of Zion? I'm really not sure.

A little help please lads and ladies, thanks.

So here is the scenario, I call my friend on my cell phone, we are chatting away, suddenly one of our phones drops the other. He calls me back at the same time and we either get a busy signal or voicemail. How do you know who calls who back, how long should you wait before trying their phone? Silly question I know, but it drives me CRAZY! :-)

who would get to heaven......... with a reason who out of these two people would go to heaven?
Fred Phelps, creator of God hates Fags, the most hateful organisation since KKK, but dispite his sick hate crimes, he's spreading te word of god, so he goes to heaven or not?
How about compared to an athiest who lives a good life and spends their life in science explaining the universe to better society, but has decided hey, i just can't accept God.
Who of the two would get to heaven?
and don't say both cause their opposite.
Dont' say out of opinion either, it has to be according to how you were taught and what is scripted.
peace out people,

I've recently become a fan of Robert Johnson, the ol Blues singer who supposly went to the Crossroads and midnight and sold his soul to the devil to be able to play his guitar. I dont really believe that, but I find it extremely interesting. Does anybody out there in Netland have any other cool stories like that, or just any info at all about the subject? (BTW not really lookin for info on Robert Johnson if thats what you think)

i wonder that really

i see young beautiful girls who were brain washed by bad guys..... the latter , in many times, succeed in their aims.....and they make these girls either fail, or to be a model on such awful magazines.......
or just they take what they want and just leave

i have seen that many times that made me very astonished.... and sad about these fish.

Note: i saw also women who direct men like toys......but they made it in A GROUP.... who put plans to damage that male human being.

I work in a law office and phone plenty of people everyday. Today I received a call that went like this:

Caller: "WHO IS THIS?"
Me: This is ___ at ____law offices.
Caller: Why did you call me?
Me: I'm sorry, who are you calling for?
Caller: This number is on my caller ID, you called two hours ago, why did you call me?
Me: I'm sorry, what is your name, then I may know why we called.
Caller: Forget that...you don't know who you've been calling? Why did you call me, how can you just call a number and not know why you called.

And so on and so on...and prior to them hanging up they instructed me never to call them again...lol.

Has this ever happened to you? Or do you ever call back unknown numbers on your caller ID?
