I'm Southern Baptist and we got a new preacher about 9 months ago and has taken up with the rich folk of the church. He's a good preacher, but not a very good pastor. I was told that he told people at the church, that if the church hasn't grown in a year then he's leaving. There were a couple of women in the church that had family members to die and they had called the church office to let the pastor know and he didn't bother showing up for anything, he didn't call or nothing. I have seen that if you have a 6 figure income then you get all the attention you need. The way I look at it is Jesus didn't hang around with the rich folk and the preacher needs to start paying attention to the rest of the flock. I don't know, maybe it's just me what do you think? Serious answer only please!

As a Christian, I am apalled at some of the most horrible teachings coming from the most popular TV evangelists (Phelps, Clefto Dollar, Benny Hinn)

Why do you think that the falsest of prophets have the biggest audiences and means of giving their message?

Mindfully considering that there are all "types" in the Body of Christ, with individual roles and unique purposes, what is your honest Christ-felt opinion and analysis of Sherry Shriner and her "horrifying" prophetic ministry? Alarmist in nature, is her message really from God and Christ? What kind of Christ-like Hope does her message offer Mankind and the world, other than utter fright, a pointless earthly existence and mass suicide to escape the terrors she foresees? I'm genuinely curious and interested in what other Christians rooted in Christ and the Word of God sense about Sherry Shriner and her ministry?

For those unfamiliar with her, following is her WEB site:

The president of the New York Scientific Society once gave eight reasons why he believed there was a God. The first was this: Take 10 identical coins and mark them 1 to 10. Place them in your pocket. Now take one out. There is 1 chance in 10 that you will get number one. Now replace it, and the overall chance that number two follows number one is not 1 in 10, but 1 in 100. With each new coin taken out, the risk will be multiplied by 10, so that the chance of ten following nine, is 1 in 10 000 000 000 or 10 billion. It seemed so unbelievable to me that I immediately took pencil and paper and very quickly discovered he was right. Try it yourself

I personally have no recollections of "life" before I was born... In fact, I have few recollections that extend into early infancy. I assume that the bulk of you have similarly absent recollections. (I suspect that there may be a few freaks who believe otherwise.)

How then is it logical to believe that ones after death will be any different than ones before birth?

(Please answer without making useless scripture quotations that lend little help to advancing the logical response. Try using just you brain in answering this question... okay?)

Can you fit God into these terms, if not, please explain. I ignore stupid answers, intelligent people only, please. If you are not a Christian, just give me your opinion. I will respect your intellectual answers and opinions.

The Bible places a huge significance and importance on being circumcised and that it was considered sinful and evil if someone wasn't. How would anyone be able to tell that was the case? Even today, most people don't discuss that kind of thing amongst each other unless they have a very intimate relationship. But back then, public nudity was more prominent, at least according to the history of the Greeks and such. Other than that, it doesn't make any sense as to how that would be public knowledge in the first place. Especially when you add in the religious belief that your body must be covered at all times.

I took a spiritual gift test to get some idea of what my gift was because I've been wondering if I even had one. Anyway discernment was the one I scored the highest on. I thought maybe it was just mistake or something, so I went to another web site and took another test, which had different kinds of questions and I answered them as honestly as I could and it was the same thing, discernment. My question is, is this a good gift to have and does anybody else have this gift? Serious answer only please!

Why can't people take that extra second to get it right? It only takes maybe two extra seconds. Shoot, a lot of times you don't even need an extra second... just some respect for the poor guy who needs to try to park next to you. It would make the world a better place.
