The Bible places a huge significance and importance on being circumcised and that it was considered sinful and evil if someone wasn't. How would anyone be able to tell that was the case? Even today, most people don't discuss that kind of thing amongst each other unless they have a very intimate relationship. But back then, public nudity was more prominent, at least according to the history of the Greeks and such. Other than that, it doesn't make any sense as to how that would be public knowledge in the first place. Especially when you add in the religious belief that your body must be covered at all times.

Was hygiene that bad back then? Because modern doctors and alot of men have said that circumcision is not necessary if you learn good hygiene from your youth.
If the Jews were indeed more hygenic by having it done, did that mean that everyone else in the world was plagued by bad hygiene? Surely other countries and nationalities would be intelligent and evolved enough to put two and two together. The Greeks for example are praised for their medical technology of the time. Yet they were not circumcised, nor did their religion or society mandate it.

Although I am so ,I see no reason why a naturally occurring skin appendage should be removed. It is a phony pseudo religious act. It seems that the Jews started it and the Malsoms followed along. I would never personally have it done.

Where in the world are you getting your information from? You need to change your sources because they are incredibly incorrect.
You weren't considered sinful and evil for not being circumcised. You were considered sinful and evil for being sinful and evil.
Circumcision was part of the covenant between God and Abraham. God commanded the seed of Abraham to be circumcised when they were 8 days old (I believe).
This was a symbol of faith to God.
This covenant was a symbol of becoming a Child of God. Kind of like baptism is done now.
It mostly applied to Jews since God only dealt with them most of the time. But there were rare cases when gentiles were circumcised.
As far as how they checked, well, it's simple. Only those who wanted to serve God or born into Judaism got it done. You could tell who is serving God by the lifestyle they led.
Either it was done as a baby or if you were willing to convert to Judaism. So someone has seen it done to you and they can be your witness if it became a question of doubt.
It's not like people were showing their weiners to each other for proof.
People back then had what is called integrity. You could pretty much take people's word as truth. All someone had was their word. If they were found to be a liar, life would be hell for them because no one would do business with them.
These days, integrity is not the norm, but the exception.

Circumcision was a requirement of the Lord under the law of Moses. Every male child was to be circumcised on the 8th day. In some way it was a precursor to the new birth spoken of by Jesus to Nicodemus in John Ch.3 as with the conversion the new heart (new birth) conditions the heart to being sensitive to the ways of God.Paul talks about circumcision of the heart in the new testament.

South Park reason - to make "it" look bigger.
Biblical reason - Circumcision was a sign of God's covenant, that the Jews might be circumcised, and the Gentiles (non-Jews) be "filthy" essentially. The Jews had tons of religious laws, one even legislated how you have to clean the bedsheets if you have a naughty dream and soil the bed. When the Jews were attempting to bring the Gospel of Christ to the Gentiles, who did not follow Jewish custom, they decided that circumcision or not does not matter, and that Gentiles don't have to follow all the Jewish custom.

You are right when you aver that the Bible stresses on circumcision. But take a look at reality. Are you Christians circumcised?!?!?!
I fail to comprehend why you Christians don't stress on this tenet of your faith.
Now, coming to your question, circumcision is significant because firstly, it is God's will; and secondly, because it is hygienic. A recent report of WHO stated that circumcised males are less prone to the HIV virus.

It also means circumcision of the heart - a spiritual doing, not just physical. It means to be separated from the filth, and keep the heart pure.
Physically, it is proven to be healthier because of hygiene purposes - easier to clean.
