Do they not understand that other countries have different ways of doing things or do they just assume that we all do as they do?
So many questions here are obviously asked by Brits.
"What are the laws concerning such and such?"
"Well it varies from state to state, but here in Ohio...."
No dear, we have counties not states. And our laws tend to be countrywide.
"Should fireworks be banned except for proper displays?"
"Well it's winter and I can't imagine why people would be letting off fireworks in November, unless you're in another country and it's a special holiday there."
Another country????? Could it be????? Surely not.
"I'm 16 and I'm in college......"
"You're 16 and in college already?"
Yes, even our education system is different. We finish school at 16 and some of us go on to further education, like college!!!
Isn't it incredible how we manage to survive?

What I mean is... if you HAVE to do something that is considered a "sin" but the ONLY reason you're doing it is because it will result in a positive outcome, is it still a "sin"? And no, I don't mean killing someone for their bike just to satisfy your own selfish desires, that's not the "positive outcome" I'm thinking of. Like I said, it would have a significant impact on "the greater good".

My job (a hotel) decorates for every holiday, and I have a huge village that I want to put out on display. Most of the local shopping areas are already putting Christmas decorations out, but I didn't want to jump too far ahead. I usually don't put anything out until the month of the holiday, but in this case, I wasn't sure if I could put the village out early, and do the rest, (trees, lights, etc.) later. This is such a beautiful display, and everyone wants to see it, but I don't want to offend anyone who may think it's too early to put it on display. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I want to ask... what is the Japanese word for fiance? It can be engaged, fiance, betrothed, I don't really care. Just give me as many words as you can with easy-to-read (and pronounce) words. As many as you can!

Try to make them short words too, since I will forget easily.

Thanks

When I was younger my parents never pushed any one religion on me. They encouraged me to attend different churches with different religions with different friends and I did. But I am not religious.
I think the Bible is what is it - a book. I think it has great moral stories. Just as good as any Asops Fables or Mother Goose. The Bible just has older stories.
I just don’t believe that people were created by God. I believe in evolution, I don’t believe you go anywhere after you die. Ok.. you go into the dirt. I believe you take what you got and make the best of it for yourself and others. Not because you get into heaven for it. I have all my family / friends, if I didn’t have all of them I would have any reason to live. I live my life for what I have not for what I might have.

Hi,

My husband purchased a new coat and when he tried it on today he noticed in one of the pockets was a folded piece of paper with some message written in vietnamese. (The jacket was made in vietnam and when i searched some of the words online, vietnamese websites came up). I tried a vietnamese translation but nothing came up.

The note said : Boc toy truo mi, Boc gau truo mi.

Any help is welcome THANK YOU!

If I'm not a Christian and I don't believe in God, but I am good person - not killing, not stealing, helping people and everything else that Bible teaches us, everything, except believing in Jesus, where will I go when I die - Heaven or Hell?

I asked a question earlier about Noah's Ark and then I realized that wasn't really the question I should have asked to get the insight I wanted

This is what I really was thinking about:
We're taught that there were no human when there were dinosaurs. And like I said before, religion and science often clash but there is evidence of dinosaurs, and so I ask should we take what the bible and scientist say into consideration when thinking about were we came from? I also started to think about how in the bible it says God created earth in a week, and that animals were created before Adam was, and that made me think maybe God's week is much longer than what we consider a week.

rather than trying to disprove God by propping up a big HOAX perpetuated by Darwin. It's a waste of talent and taxpayers' money

Agree or disagree?

Which is more pressing problem now: (a) how to defeat the "super bugs", or (b) proving / disproving the theory of evolution?
