Most things are good, in moderation. Anything in excess could kill you (even water). There's nothing wrong with having a glass of wine every now and then, as David pointed out. It's making a habit of it, or depending on the wine to ease your spirits, that causes problems. Don't get drunk, and you're okay.

Psalm 104:15 is part of the Old Testement. All the regulations of the Old Testement were nailed to the cross and are non exisent today.

Titus 3:3 doesn't name beer or wine in particular, but anything related to "serving" divers lusts and pleasures. In many traditional, conservative Christian circles, drinking is considered something of the "world". Therefore, if one should see you having a beer, they are offended. In Germany, having a beer is like having a glass of milk here. Our culture has deemed having a drink an "eye-brow lifter". I have no problem with your having a responsible drink but for the sake of others, not where persons gather who would be offended with your liberty. Another consideration, are you facing the truth about the matter. Are you an alcoholic looking for a pass to drink? Be careful not to deceive yourself.

The fact is in Scripture wine is likened to happiness, abundance, and celebration. People that live by the bottle as many do are in fact condemned because they are waisting their life away on drink and not giving it to God!

Wine is good. Men are evil. Drinking is ok. Even drinking in excess on occasion isnt that bad provided its done responsibly. Did not Jesus make wine @ a wedding where people were getting hammered? But there is a difference between drinking and living by the bottle and becoming a drunk is there not?

Let me tell you what wine is first. Wine is grape juice. One fermented or not fermented. When The scripture talks about Titus and drinking wine he means It has healing components that you and i know about today. It heals constipation. Grapes are good for your colon therefore recommended to dink grape juice. That is why the Apostle tell him to do so. Of coarse if the scripture condemns all drunkards and those who drink, why would the apostle tell him to drink fermented wine? Obviously it was not fermented ;)

And the one about David.. We are not under law any more my dear. We are under grace. I suggest you read the about the grace which it in the New Testament. Or just e-mail me :)
God Bless

There is a verse about that.. Making others stumble. Ill find it for you. I just want to help

Amen Old Guy! That's so true. God Bless you for that beautiful scripture.

Drinking in moderation is certainly alright. Even Jesus partook of wine in the Bible, and there are many instances recorded that include the consumption of alcohol. It is the OVERuse of it that is considered drunkeness, and is warned against. Even gluttony is spoken of with an eye to not overeating... does this mean we should never eat because gluttony is warned about in the Bible? Of course not! Just be moderate and conservative in all your habits!

I believe you are referring to 1Timothy 3:3.My translation says "not a drunken brawler". And the verse in Psalms, David is thanking God for many things, wine included. Jesus did not object to wine drinking (he did change water to wine for the wedding party), but the instruction is clear that we should no overindulge.

Drinking some wine is not forbidden unless as you say it could cause a brother to stumble but drunkenness is forbidden. It appears even Jesus would drink wine (most back then was very diluted and was necessary because of bad water) but He would not have gotten drunk.

There is nothing wrong with an occasional drink. Its when we drink to excess that problems arise. Otherwise, if you choose to adhere to the words of a desert tribe who put great value on restrictions, then you should pay heed to *all* the observances, not just the ones you want to find a way around.

(NLT)

Titus 3:3
3Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled by others and became slaves to many wicked desires and evil pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy. We hated others, and they hated us.

Your question indicates yoou are concerned over this for some reason, if you are then don't do it. Romans 14:23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.
