if you break the one about "not worshipping idols" than people will and do worship statues. If you break the one about "loving your nieghbor as yourself" then we get a bunch of people who forget about neighbors, and elderly, and poor, or lost, and get really egocentric. If we break the commandment to love God with all heart and soul and mind, then we can love anything else with all our might and forget about God. Not that everyone does this.

I was sitting in front of 2 old women on bus this morning who were going on about how life was so much better when they were younger (even with the war!!) and they said people don't have anything worthwhile these days which i found quite insulting. They also said there was a lack of community spirit and nobody looked out for each other anymore. Would you rather live in the 40s or 50s when there was "more community spirit" and life was simpler or now with advanced technology but in a less caring world?

John 6:53-56
"Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him."

I can understand it is a metaphor, but I can't get over the fact that it is gruesome and repulsive. He's using cannibalism as a way to represent his message. Doesn't this bother you? Can you explain the metaphorical meaning behind the passage?

I really don't want to sound racist, but why do schools with black students being the majority are such bad schools! I'm in a school like this and we have around 3 fights a day! And all of them are from black students! My cousin goes to a school with more whites than blacks, and her school is better. They don't have as much problems as we do! Why is this??

I have not been here in about a week or more and all the sudden I'm seeing Islamic quotes of scriptuer all over the place. If i say anything against a particular Muslim belief I have three or four thumbs down before I can blink. I have also seen quotes from the Koran in answers to questions that are not any kind of answer at all but scriptures why I should convert to their faith. That is straight up abuse of this forum!
I have a faith the one God gave me from his throne, and I will not give it up!
I do not like what I think I'm seeing here if you see it too just answer this question from your heart not your head. If I am wrong then let me know. I have an open mind & heart & am able to admit when I'm wrong Am I seeing non-muslim bashing here? I would not like to see the hate that rules parts of the middle east spill into this forum. Even though I do understand it is the creation of the USA as a nation!

Okay, fist I'm an openly gay male and two monthes ago I found what appeared to be the perfect man. He told me that he had fought and beat cancer. About a month ago I found out that the doctor has only given him a year to live and he has leukemia and Lou Gherigs. This really upset me because I strongly believe in honesty. Well lately, since I found out, he has become more shady and for the last week we have spent barely 5 minutes (sometimes less talking) until yesterday, when I didnt hear from him at all!! I really care about him and want to be there for him, but I just feel like now that I know his secret he doesnt want me. WHAT SHOULD I DO.

And he wont talk to me about it. Every time I try to get him to talk he says that Im being unreasonable. He also says that me expecting him to spend a few minutes talking to me is both arrogant and selfish.
