It's quite funny.

I think it couldn't have happened to a nicer person.

It probably would have been easier for people to forgive him if he had been with a female prostitute. You know, the old idea that men have their needs, the woman was an evil temptress from hell, weaknesses of the flesh, blah, blah, blah...But a male prostitute! That was something different entirely. Not only does the Christian faith (for the most part) take a dim view towards homosexuality, this guy was standing up in the pulpit preaching against homosexuality! That makes him not only an adulterer and a closet gay, but also a hypocrite.

Its a shame, He was a Christian leader. Only a handful of Christians really mess up like that, but the media will not ever let them live it down. God will deal with the Ted Haggards of the world. Why not focus some attention on the many men of God that haven't fallen, like Rev. Billy Graham?

I laughed and felt happy that someone like Ted, who always condemned gay people and people with different thoughts, has lost his mask, he used to show to the people following his Ideas (30 Mio in the US only). It would not have made any difference if would have had sex with a lady instead of a man, as the bible puts gay people along with people going to female prostitutes.

I am only sorry about M J .. I believe he needs some body guards... I believe the radical US Christians will try to kill him in order to show that he is the Devil him self

I do not know the man and I am not the one who he needs to seek forgiveness from. However, I feel bad for those who thought he was more than a man and assumed he was impervious to sin. I think that is true of all holy men. They are just that, men. You can hold them up to higher standards and they should hold themselves up to higher standards, but in the end you should never place your faith in a man or what a man preaches. God is the only one to give you truth and will never fail you or cause you to doubt his truth. I see no reason to judge the man as I am not sinless myself. He will answer to God eventually and that is enough for me. Hopefully he can "patch things up".

ALL sin leads to death. ALL sin can be forgiven when repented of

Ro 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1Jn 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Except

Mt 12:31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Mt 12:32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Mk 3:28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them.
Mk 3:29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.”
Mk 3:30 He said this because they were saying, “He has an evil spirit.”

Rejecting Jesus means death

Ac 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

those with itching ears tell the individuals hat they wanna hear n they are going to keep on with you. joel osteen, haggard, joyce meyer, etc they pontificate a fabric and actual prosperity gospel that attracts human beings, no longer the certainty of repentance of sin and thought in Jesus Christ

I think that because he struggles with what he calls his dark side, he has a better understanding of the issues surrounding homosexuality. I think this may be why he lobbied against gay issues. Ever heard of the saying, "Me thinks thou dost protest too much"?
I also think his public apology, as well as his stepping down, are good examples of leadership.
He made some mistakes, as we all do. As long as he seeks both forgiveness (which he asked for), & restitution, he's still got leadership qualities.

my forgiveness toward him isn't as important as God's forgiveness. people seem to think that if you are a Christian, you are to be perfect and never sin. this is so untrue, we are all human and fall into temptations. some fall to the temptation of sex, other's greed, and so on... but the Bible says that ALL far short of the glory of God. no one is perfect.
anyone who asks God for forgiveness, God is is faithful and just to forgive.

It should be a wakeup call to a lot of people about following a person who is just a fallable as they are instead of reading the Bible and finding out what God says for themselves.
