David (II Sam. 24:10) or sanctioning slavery (Exodus 21). He even acquiesced to human sacrifice (Judges 11:30-39). What kind of God would have an altar dripping with blood of the innocent?

Just because I write a book and say God told me what to write, doesn't mean its true, even if I really believe it to be.

If I kill someone and say God told me to, that does not make it true, but I might feel less responsible by saying it and believing it.

What is that saying...the purpose of some people's lives is a warning to others. I feel that way about most of the Old Testament. I do, however, find many of the Psalms quite lovely, and many of the Proverbs, quite instructional.

I'm having the same problem with science, I enjoy studying it but they have done nothing but kill with it.
From the invention of the sling to the modern day atomic bomb they are constantly coming up with new ways to kill innocent people all over the world.

I like the study of Myrmecology and Cosmology because they are more about nature.

The only atrocity here is your twisted interpretation of the Bible. Seeing as God has not hit you with a lightening bolt as you can see he cannot be all that merciless even when it is justified.

God doesn't work in mysterious ways have you not read 1Corinthians 14:33
"For God is [a God], not of disorder, but of peace"

The Hebrew scriptures (Old Testament) are relevant as the Greek scriptures (New Testament).
Have you not read
2Timothy 3:16-17 ?
"ALL Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Why is it that people always want to focus on the Old Testament?! Now with that out of the way, why do you think God would owe you or anybody else an explanation?! The answer is He doesn't, simply because He is God.

Don't focus so much on the Old Testament - there is a New Covenant - the Lord Jesus Christ. He is love, peace, joy, faithful. The Old Testament is history and we can learn from it - I don't understand it all. But focus on Jesus and He will open your spiritual eyes to what the Bible is really saying. Get to know Him and He will "enlighten' you. Blessings.

"The Abrahamic god is jealous, vengeful, genocidal, and the creator of good and evil. He was made by the ruling class to control people."

I'm just waiting for "God works in mysterious ways" or a variant thereof for half of these answers.

Also waiting for multiple instances of the Persecution Complex card.
